Over here a few Korean beers, especially draft beer, gives me a hangover. |

Avoid Taiwan! Korean beer is at least drinkable. The beer in Taiwan is simply poisonous. |
I second that. Taiwanese beer is MUCH worse than Korean beer.
The only halfway decent beer in all of Asia is the North Korean beer and Tsingtao (a Chinese beer made by Germans).
Asia is not a 'great beer' continent by any stretch of the imagination. To expect South Korea to be an oasis for it is a real high unachievable expectation. |
And Tiger beer?
No Asian brand beer is going to win 'Beer of the Year' Award any time soon but Tsingtao and Daedongmekju are pretty much on the same level as San Miguel, Tiger beer, and Singha beer; all drinkable.
Korean beer is on a level somewhat below that. It just tastes funny. It's not right. It's beer made by and for people with no love of beer.
If Taiwanese beer is even worse then God help the Taiwanese. There's a beer in Shanghai called 'Snow' beer which is about 1% alcohol, totally flat, and has a beery taste in the same way the dishwater from a pub does. If you're willing to allow that to actually count as beer, that's worse than Korean beer. |

Feels like they put nasty chemicals in it the day after, and tastes like it when you're drinking it too. |

I've heard Lao beer is good. Haven't tried it myself though. I liked Tiger draught beer (in VN). I think San Miguel and the draft is good, too. Tsingtao is OK, nothing special IMO. |
I've heard so much about Lao Beer, never had it either. Never once heard a bad thing about it though.
I like San Miguel too, but moreso in the Philippines. It's a 'cold' beer that tastes even colder in the Philippines.

Just occurred to me. Japan is in Asia! Can't complain about their beer, which is generally better quality in Japan than a messed up version of 'Asahi' (ie. good in Japan, not as good in Korea) or whatever in another country. |
