Hey guys!

It was awesome playing fantasy hockey in an exclusive Korean league last season using Yahoo as the server. League sign ups just started today and I've already registered a league for the upcoming season. I'm looking to find 16 owners who are going to be active all season long and enjoy playing in a deeper format. This isn't a shits and giggles league of just superstar players as it involves 16 teams with full NHL sized rosters (12 forwards, 6 D and 2 Golaies) to be selected. Last season a lot of people enjoyed the format, but a number of complaints were that the bench was too deep and complicated to work guys in and out of the lineup everyday. This problem has been solved this season by making it a weekly transactions league where you just set your lineup once on Monday for the entire week. It makes things a long easier and you don't have to check back at the site everyday like a rat on cocaine to change your lineups. Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to the season and best of luck to everyone who joints. I'm going to post instructions on how to join Yahoo Fantasy Hockey in case some are interested but not sure what to do and I'm also going to provide a copy of the league settings for those to view before they join.

I'm going to provide some moron proof instructions for those unfamiliar with the sign-up process for Yahoo Fantasy Sports:

1) Firstly sign up for a yahoo email account ID. If you have this already then just sign in as you normally would and skip the link that follows: https://edit.yahoo.com/config/eval_register?.done==http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/splash?type=home&.src=spt&.intl=us

2) Sign in to your account and click or cut and paste the following link:
http://login.yahoo.com/config/login?.done=http://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com%2fhockey&.src=spt&.intl=us

3) Now Click on this link and use the following as the ID and Password:
http://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/register/joinprivateleague_league_select?.scrumb=

ID: 703
pwd: korea

4) Register and sign up for a team - you will automatically be placed in the Galbi Gauntlet League. The draft is going to be held Sun Sep 23 10:00pm KST and you can either draft live by selecting the players round by round, or you can pre-rank your players, or you can have Yahoo select a team for you which you can manage throughout the season. The format is h2h and each of our teams will compete against another team for a week. The winners in categories get either a win, a loss, or a tie. these count towards the overall standings. Once the regular season is over, the top 6 teams make the playoffs and compete against one another until a champion is revealed. Scoring is based on real life events that are happening in NHL hockey games. Anyhow, this is a very short introduction but hopefully it explains things a little more clearly to those who are interested but unfamiliar with what is going on. Hope to see the league fill up soon!

LOL, well not really but it helps keep the thread more visible and gives those who are interested in joining a chance to see how the league is shaping up. I wouldn't worry too much as 11/16 spots have now been filled and I'm going to stop with these lame updates as soon as the league is full which I'm hoping happens sometime very soon. In the meantime, more lame updates...

I just wanted to conclude that the league has now been filled and we've reduced the league to 12 teams. Thanks to everyone who joined and good luck to those in other leagues

Hey guys:

Several of you pointed out that having a draft during Chuseok was a bad idea in terms of time/scheduling. Thus, several days ago, I changed the draft to this coming Monday at 10:30pm. In general, I've recieved only positive feedback about the new time slot and thus I've decided to keep it. I'd just like to post this for those who may not have had a chance to sign in recently.
