Some might choose Korea? (shudder)

Not your home country.

Assuming you'd be OK (not rich, just enough though) with cash, where would you live?

I really liked Sapporo, Japan. Clean, modern, Asian but well thought out. Winter but not Canada cold. Summer but not stinkpot hot.

As long as money and a visa are available, I'd choose Norway or Sweden. High standard of living, great climate (for me), and terrific people.

The island of Crete.

I grew up in a Mediterranean climate. I miss it a lot. And you can't get any more Mediterranean than Crete.

I remember telling a minister in Busan that I liked his city more than my own at home. He seemed amazed by that and would mention it to other people.

My safe pick is Northern California
If I was willing to take a chance based on home video and photos I have seen, I'd pick Greece

I haven't got a clue. I've never been anywhere but Canada and the US, and limited parts of both. I just have a vague idea that somewhere else might be better.

I'd go for Chiang Mai. Great scenery, plenty to do, and fairly easy to access a whole range of cool places from.

OP said NOT your home country though.

But yeah, if I had to be somewhere for the rest of my life, California would be a pretty good place.
