IGTG, it's Sept 14 8:03 pm EST. Nothing has blown up in the USA. How do you like your crow?

My crow? Huh? Dunno.

Is it anything like you ... choking yur little chicken?

Anyways i'm happy no mass murders occured because of a treasonous stand-down order.

?

Why would people give "treasonous stand-down order"(s) unless they knew for sure something would happen?
Are you trying to say people gave these orders merely to see if anything would happen?

Reading back, I don't think IGTG actually claimed anything WAS going to happen - that was inferred by others.

He just claimed the airforce was given a stand down order.

Were they? Is there any precedent? Is it some business as usual thing? I don't know - anyone help out?

As for the six nuclear weapons that were mishandled - that is some weird *beep*. Is there something wrong with their nuclear warhead handling procedures? Put the nukes AWAY for fucks sake. Don't start waving them around dangerously at a time like this.

They have ordered a standdown of bombers.

This is related to the overfly by a nuclear loaded bomber last week.

It is routine for the Airforce to do these things for a complete procedural investigation to identify any system causation for this obvious tactical mistake.

We still have a Navy that is capable of the routine defensive patrols.

It has been done before without incident.

You're right, I see:

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/09/05/loose.nukes/?iref=mpstoryview

Although the article does state that the standdown affects all bomber and fighter flights. Even fighters and that have nothing to do with nuclear weapons?

Could be standard beaurocratic knee-jerk response, although quite frankly, the accidental mishandling of the warheads seems suspicious. It's the US, not Russia.

Fighters like the F-16 can in fact be used to deliver nuclear weapons.

Of course I was right and why would you think other wise?

I have been right before you know.

There was also a recent extraterritorial flight of bombers by Russia in around the same time frame, however that was not characterized as an accident.

Oh, I do beg your pardon!

Next time I'll rephrase my agreement.

Well, it can't be that hard to tell if they are carrying a nuke or not.

Why not halt all movement of nukes instead?

And why that particular day? If you're going to suspend flights - would you do it immediately if you were worried about nuclear weapons going astray, rather than one particular day in the future?

Not alleging anything, just asking questions I'd like to see answered in the MSM, if they haven't been answered already.
