I'm very pleased to let you guys know about a dinner party that's happening this weekend (Sept. 15th) at 6:00 pm at an apartment in Itaewon. If you'd like to attend, we're happy to have you, whether you're a die-hard vegan/vegetarian or just a part-timer.

It's a potluck, and salads, main dishes, appetizers and desserts are welcome, but if you're not much of a cook, then just grab a bottle of wine or even juice and show up!

Please click here ( http://seoulveggieclub.wordpress.com/ ) if you'd like directions, and PM me if you have any questions.

Yeah, I did that today... it's not for my own benefit though. I honestly thought people would be pleased at the chance to eat at veggie restaurants or be cooked for by other vegetarians. My bad.

Most veggie club members aren't Dave's folks, and my facebook profile has nothing to do with me personally at all.

I can see why "Kermo" hasn't bothered to post veggie club threads here lately based on the (beef) jerky responses.

In this forum, off-topic posts are not welcome and should be deleted - especially when someone is trying to organize an event obvously geared just for people who are interested in attending it.

People with no interest in attending should kindly refrain from posting here. This isn't the right place to debate the merits of vegetarianism or to brag about how big a meathead one may be.

From time to time those kind of threads - which usually get heated - are posted in the "Off-Topic" forum, which is where they belong.

Likewise, if someone were trying to organize a BBQ in this forum, vegetarians should refrain - and be prevented from - posting disruptive stuff on that type of thread...

I'm feeling decidedly left here, no veggie spam for me.

This is unfair. I'd written it in my diary, with the prev. time until I found out that the restaurant is closed. The restaurant last time in INsadong was excellent. Bu I've got a party in Yesan that same evening. Torn! The worst thing is I've been a chef in sweden for four years so my cooking is passable. Just you're gonna have to wait.

Any votes for changing the name to Seoul + Hongseong Veggie Club?

I'm really sorry you couldn't come Dome Vans. I don't know you personally, but I remember your picture in the Hawt thread. Wink

It was a gorgeous event-- our host really knows how to throw a swank shindig and the food was so good I ached for the rest of the night. Thanks to everyone who came!

The next meeting will be the first Sunday of October, and we'll probably head to Salem, the veggie buffet restaurant we tried to go to before realizing it was closed on Saturdays.

I'm prepared to ignore off-topic stuff-- I've just been busy trying to publicize the Veggie Club in new venues. The meat references bounce off my sickly vegetarian skin like a tossed ham.

Kermo, sugar!

I was the guy sat opposite you in the restaurant who liked all the comedy (the mighty boosh) that everyone else didn't like.

Any new recommendations for downloading? Sorry file sharing.

Oh mercy! You're even better-looking in real life than you are in those photos. I was swooning. Ok. Composing myself...

New recommendations? Well, I just got my TV replaced, so I've watched the 2nd series of Spaced in its entirety, followed by the 2nd series WITH COMMENTARY, followed by the deleted scenes, followed by the deleted scenes WITH COMMENTARY, etc. At my office, I waded through the third series of Little Britain but didn't laugh too heartily. More bemusement. I've gone back and appreciated "The Fast Show" and "Big Train" as well, but that's hardly new.

There will be a new season of The Office (US) which I'm quite looking forward to, and that ought to be on tv-links.co.uk lickety-split.

If you're interested in American comedy gems, check out a series called Freaks and Geeks (also on tv-links) directed by Judd Apatow (the man who brought you Knocked Up and 40-Year-Old Virgin.) Apatow can seem low-brow at first glance, but he does bring a real gentle, believable quality to his characters that make anything he does worth watching.

Anyway, what were we talking about? Vegetables or something?

Haha...good work Dome. I know you're a good guy so it's good to see others realising that, too!

Spaced still top of my list. We talked about how with Little Britain, after seeing one series is enough to get an idea about the jokes. Check out The Green Wing if you get the chance.

How's the northern coming along duck?

Back to topic, carrots rule, tofu marinaded, delicious! Eggs also good. Meat bad, tripe not good!
