What are the top 5 places to teach English abroad moneywise, and the top 5 culturewise? thanx

...that's a tough question because everyone has different qualifications, etc. For example, in Chile there are people making $500 / mo, and some making $20,000 at a private school because they are US certified.
But, if you are just asking TEFL / CELTA certified?? then here is my list:
1) S Korea
2) Japan
3) China
4) Poland
5) Mexico (because you can add privates really easy, and no one knows) |

You are asking for 2 separate lists, right?
For money
1) Mid East oil states
2) Korea
3) Taiwan
4) Japan
5) Vietnam
For culture, thats up to you. How ever you are going to find that places where people tend to think there's an engaging culture, the wages are low and working conditions aren't as good. Supply and demand. |

| If you are a certified teacher in your home country, then Hong Kong is probably one of the best places to be money-wise. |

What? I'm a certified English teacher in the US. Where do you find these high paying jobs in HK? |

...i had a friend who taught in Egypt and was scare to death to fly, take a bus, taxi, go to a market, or out in public...so, he just stayed on his compound -- maybe, he was over paranoid, but was just afraid of the hotel bombings, car bombings, hostage taking, etc...
then again, this was 8-10 years ago, when Egypt wasn't so friendly a place. in addition, how much touring of the country-side are you going to do in Saudi Arabia?? there's nothing, to see or do --- so , you don't go anywhere |

Egypt is low pay. It's also Northern Africa.
When people refer to making $ in the Middle East, they are referring to Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, etc. The Gulf States where all the oil is located.

I think Egypt would be fascinating to live and teach for awhile. Tons of foreigners and backpackers and every other foreigner there, I don't think it would be a fearful experience at all.
Generally people would take on low salaries to live in a place like Egypt, whereas Saudi Arabia would be the higher salaries as there isn't as much cultural/travel opportunities like a place like Egypt would have. Plus the economic oil revenues isn't in Egypt either to have tons of $ to give to foreigners for English lessons. |

Egypt is one of the worlds major tourist spots and basically the whole of its industry is tourism so I think your fine teaching there. I was fine travelling there and so were the hundreds of others I saw and met. You can drink beer, party and do everything in Egypt and its one the most fascinating and crazy places on the planet.
Saudi on the other hand isn't so fun.
There isn't much money to be made in Egypt tho I would have thought with it being so poor |

how much could a certified teacher earn per annum in hong kong in a specialized field (test prep, biz eng, etc) of EFL?
could it compare to what an f-series visa holder could make in korea? |

All these countries you have listed here are very popular choices for esl teachers. Now let's rank them in terms of cultural interest.
1. Japan (mainly because of Tokyo, Kyoto, Hokkaido and Okinawa.)
2. Vietnam (mainly because of Hanoi, but their food and women are wonderful too.)
3. Middle East - Dubai in particular - a bustling city that has a nice mix of cultures, cuisines and stunning architecture).
4. Taiwan (for the food and beaches)
5. Korea (Industrial country without much of a tourist industry (unless you count the Japanese and Chinese who drop in because they're in the neighborhood). Not much to see here. After you have seen Gyeong-ju and the DMZ, you can go home)  |
