I'm insured through my public school. Does anyone know what kind of benefits it include?
What doesn't it cover?
I heard it also works for dental, is that true? |

Not sure what kind of coverage you are used to -- I am assuming you have your little health-card-booklet-thingy.
I have shown it at the doctor, hospital, and dentist. ER visits cost 30,000 won plus whatever I may need done, doctor's visits are about 2,000-3,000 won plus meds usually, maybe 6,000 if I get an x-ray and multiple other tests, dentists are quite a bit more (dunno if the healthcard DOES anything there, but I show it). Fillings have been like 6,000 won, wisdom tooth extraction was 7,000 won plus meds, root canal/crown was pricy at 500,000 won (could've gone with cheaper metals -- only about 200,000 won -- or gone higher up -- I am a middle road kinda guy, and the tooth was in the back where ya can't see it).
All in all, MUCH cheaper than I am used to paying in the states with full Blue Cross/Blue Shield coverage, so it seems to cover a lot...at least to me, since I am used to NOT being covered for so many things in the US. |

Thats pretty extensive coverage. I went and got a mole removed. I know it didn't cover that so I guess cosmetic surgery isn't covered.
However, would the coverage do LASIK? |

Damn! Your root canal PLUS crown was only 500,000 won! In the US, a root canal alone set me back $500. Shoulda waited 'til I got here... |

Not covered under your insurance but they are cheap.. I bought a really good pair the other day exam and all for 90.. and that was the expensive end. |
