A few weeks back I landed a job at a University in Seoul. I sent out my documents and they were received on the 2nd of September. I still have yet to receive my Certificate of Visa Issuance number. My pending employer has been contacting the immigration office daily and they initially said it would be ready last week. The school wanted me to book my flight at that time, but now I'm glad I didn't because I would've guessed that I'd be able to fly out today and would've had to reschedule.

Anyway, with all the scandal going on
with this chick

plus the other 19 people caught with fake diplomas... the Immigration office is now being very cautious. So if anyone is starting the process now be forewarned that it's probably going to take longer than your employer expects.

I wish they'd hurry up though geez I'd like to get in before Chuseok. [/img]

The process took 3 weeks. Twice as long as I was told.

Good warning.

While his anti-Korean sentiment is obviously uncalled for, the rest of his argument is quite true. Using a diploma as "proof" of graduating from somewhere isn't the best idea. They got themselves into this mess, now they're going to have to get themselves out of it... or blame the foreigners somehow.
