Quote: |
Madonna and Britney Spears have been targeted as the spreaders of "Satanic culture."
The aggressive comments were launched by spokesman and senior leader of Palestinian terror group the Popular Resistance Committees, a group based in the Gaza Strip and responsible for the increase in shootings and bombings in the region.
Muhammad Abdel-Al is quoted in new book Schmoozing With Terrorists: From Hollywood To the Holy Land Jihadists Reveal Their Global Plans--To A Jew! attacks the two pop stars, labelling them "prostitutes."
Abdel-Al rants, "If I meet these whores I will have the honor--I repeat, I will have the honor--to be the first one to cut the heads off Madonna and Britney Spears if they will keep spreading their Satanic culture against Islam."
He continued, "If these two prostitutes keep doing what they are doing, we of course will punish them."
The comments have been made just as Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie prepare to celebrate the Jewish New Year with 2,000 Kabbalah followers in Israel.

Is there any chance of those of you who love to brand the actions of one person the actions of an entire religion realizing how it makes you look? After all, Christianity is also supposed to be a religion of peace. And, yet, there are those today who kill in its name. |

I am just curious if there isn't something to be said that those like AQ do in fact hate the US for its values. |

Unfortunately, it is the very nature of islam that is the cause of muslim violence. They simply can not live in peace if they are not dominant.
If it were the case that Christian suicide bombers were threatening cafe's in Venice, then you can be damn sure that pages and pages and pages of ink would be spilled all over the world about how Christians must combat their own violence. This isn't the case with the muslims. All we get are assertions, that are more than a bit old, that it is a "tiny minority" and how one-upon-a-time Christians used to do the same. Don't be such a pus.sy. Look around the world and make a damned honest assessment. Everywhere there are muslims there is religious violence, or structured dhimmnitue (the way we can escape religious violence) against the kuffar.
It isn't enough any more. There is now a Swedish cartoon writer who has a 100k bounty on his head from the muslims. This is going to keep getting worse and worse and worse as they get more and more confident. |

Tiny minority:

Muslims cannot co-operate with local authorities against other members of the faith, the outspoken leader of an Islamic group has said.
Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad was reacting to a call from the Muslim Council of Britain for the community to play its part in the fight against terrorism, following the anti-terrorism raids earlier this week in which eight men were arrested.
But Sheikh Omar told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "Muslims have a unique way of life. Co-operating with the authorities against any other Muslims, that is an act of apostasy in Islam." |

German authorities report lack of Muslim cooperation in antiterrorism fight
Berlin - The lack of cooperation of Muslim communities with the security authorities remains a weak point of the fight against terrorism in Germany. Six years after the attacks on 11 September 2001, according to a survey of the news agency ddp in all federal laender, the authorities can hardly count on active support from Muslim communities. In 2007, they have received practically no specific information on "radicalized fellow believers, on recruiters of terrorist organizations, or on planned attacks."
In response to the key question of whether they had active help this year in the form of tips from Muslim communities, the answer was almost entirely a clear no. It was reported from Lower Saxony that there had been isolated tips on radicalization. In Hessen, there was reserved talk of "slight tendencies towards openness." In three laender, the authorities did not want to give any information. These laender had declared in previous ddp-inquiries that they had not received any corresponding tips in the past years. In addition to the obvious attempt not to offend the Muslim communities, some answers showed a certain lack of understanding for the missing cooperation. From Bavaria, for example, it was reported that the "Bavarian Office for Constitutional Protection has still not received any tips from Muslims despite appeals in the Internet and a special contact telephone set up for this purpose." The security experts in Berlin had similar experiences. In the past there, an anonymous telephone had not yielded any tangible results. In response to the question of whether it has received any tips, the Senate Interior Administration answered simply: "No." Hamburg's interior authority pointed out that the situation had not changed since the last surveys. Accordingly, no corresponding tips had been received in the Hanseatic city. Experts there assess the access to Muslim communities as "extremely difficult." In response to the question of new tendencies in cooperation between Muslims and security authorities, it was generally said that the authorities are trying to establish a basis for trust. For example, the police in Baden-Wuerttemberg have named permanent contacts for the Muslim communities. In Berlin, it was said that the cooperation had definitely changed since 11 September 2001. Accordingly, on the part of the Muslims, there is great interest "in not having their faith come under general suspicion." Apart from the fight against terrorism, there have obviously been some changes in Berlin and in other laender. In the capital city, it was said that Muslim communities would become involved in various bodies. Next year a continuing education series is supposed to increase the socio-political competence of imams. Identical inquiries of the news agency ddp in past years had yielded the same results for the time after 11 September 2001. |

"Once upon a time?" I can think of a number of examples well within my lifetime where people ostensibly Christian were murdering others because they either weren't Christians or weren't the "right kind of Christians." I can even recall someone getting murdered in the US immediately after the terrorist attacks because his killer just thought the victim was Muslim.
No matter how often you trot out your line about "the Muslims," you are still ignoring the simple fact that Islam is not what you portray.
"The Muslims" serve honorably in the United States Armed Forces:
On the journey to Islam
Chaplains trained to serve troops of all faiths
Muslims in military say 'everybody belongs'
Private marries, finds Islam
Also, President Bush himself declared that we are not engaged in a war on Islam.
Here is President Bush's Ramadan message of November 2001, just two months after the terrorist attacks:
Quote: |
President's Message for Ramadan
Message from the President
November 15, 2001
As the new moon signals the holy month of Ramadan, I extend warm greetings to Muslims throughout the United States and around the world.
The Islam that we know is a faith devoted to the worship of one God, as revealed through The Holy Qu'ran. It teaches the value and importance of charity, mercy, and peace. And it is one of the fastest growing religions in America, with millions of American believers today.
The American Muslim community is as varied as the many Muslim communities across the world. Muslims from diverse backgrounds pray together in mosques all across our great land. And American Muslims serve in every walk of life, including our Armed Forces.
The Holy Qu'ran says: "Piety does not lie in turning your face to the East or West. Piety lies in believing in God." (2:177). Americans now have turned to acts of charity, sending relief to the Afghan people, who have suffered for so many years. America is proud to play a leading role in the humanitarian relief efforts in Afghanistan, through airdrops and truck convoys of food, medicine, and other much-needed supplies. And today we are committed to working for the long-term reconstruction of that troubled land.
We send our sincerest wishes to Muslims in America and around the world for health, prosperity, and happiness during Ramadan and throughout the coming year. |
Perhaps you'd be more interested in the President's Ramadan message for this year:
Quote: |
For Immediate Release September 12, 2007
September 7, 2007
I send greetings to Muslims observing Ramadan in America and around the world.
Ramadan, the holiest days of the Islamic faith, begins with the first light of dawn and commemorates the revelation of the Qur'an to the prophet Muhammad. During the days of fasting, prayer, and worship, Muslims reflect and remember their dependence on God. Ramadan is also an occasion for Muslims to strengthen family and community ties and share God's gifts with those in need.
America is a land of many faiths, and our society is enriched by our Muslim citizens. May the holy days of Ramadan remind us all to seek a culture of compassion and serve others in charity.
Laura and I send our best wishes. Ramadan Mubarak.

Singapore is a peaceful society and their Muslim population, about 16% of the total population of the country, are certainly not in the dominant position.
Your touting "the Muslims placed a bounty" on someone's head is as disingenuous as saying "the Christians have but a bounty on abortionists" when, in reality, it's a particular kook who's done that. And you've completely ignored in what you quoted that an Islamic body did call on Muslims to fight against the terrorism. |

I live in Singapore.
Did you know that in Singapore, the military does not allow muslims into the higher ranks, and will not give the muslims (even military aged young men) guns should a war break out, because, in the worlds of LKY: "they will turn them on us"?
Did you know about civil liberties in Singapore, or how they don't exist? Do you know why? Do you know about about Singapore uses high immigration to off-set the birth-rates of the Malays for fear of being swamped? Do you know about the "not yours to govern" problem? The mosques are 100% monitored by the state. Every muslim man has his internet activity monitored. JI has repeatadly tried to attack Singapore. Again and again. They are only stopped by the massive state security services that you must have in combination with zero civil liberties if you are going to have a large muslim population.
Singapore is a perfect example of how you keep muslims down. You want this for your country? |

I would have to say that such things as monitoring the "Internet activity of every Muslim" in Singapore would be impossible. According to this site, the US State Deparment has said "the government generally respects the civil rights of its citizens."

That may well be. However, is that indicative of anything about Islam, or about the specific historical circumstances of Singapore? I would imagine that Serbs are not exactly welcome in the Croatian army, nor Armenians in Turkey's. |

You can read the professional military journals for "citations". Lexusnexus will suffice. The internet activity and sms's of every young muslim man are read. It is the way the security services here keep the city safe. Singapore can not have civil liberties because of the muslim population. I guess the is the price of multiculturalism+islam. |

Put the above into a google search. LKY's book "From Third World to First" will provide even more.
The unwillingness of Singapore to promote muslims to top military positions is a major source of tension between Chinese Singapore and her muslim peers.
Because I have written "Singapore" and "muslim" in this page, the ISD and SID will read this. All internet traffic is monitored. There are many Singaporean muslims indefinitely incarcerated for their internet activities.

Off the top of my head:

On Monday, Feb. 12th, one time Bosnian refugee Sulejmen Talovic (age 18 ) walked into the Trolley Valley shopping mall in Salt Lake City and in a six minute rampage killed five people and severely wounded several more. The dead were identified as Jeffrey Walker, 52, Vanessa Quinn, 29, Kirsten Hinkley, 15, Teresa Ellis, 29, and Brad Frantz, 24.
My initial (blogged) reaction was:
Any guesses as to whether he's a Muslim or not? I may be going out on a limb here, but I sense another follower of Allah and the Religion of Peace.... And might I add that this is a great example of how having a large section of the population allowed to conceal carry is a good idea.
Sure enough it turns out Sulejmen Talovic was indeed a Muslim and that little nugget of information has fueled a firestorm of speculation among bloggers and unleashed accusations of "cover-up" directed towards the Main Stream Media and law enforcement investigators. |

Some of these recent incidents include Naveed Afzal Haq's July 28, 2006 shootings at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. After forcing his way into the building, Haq announced, "I'm a Muslim American; I'm angry at Israel," and then began firing, killing one woman and injuring five more. |

a twenty-two-year-old Iranian student named Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar drove an SUV onto the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, deliberately trying to kill people and succeeding in injuring nine. After the incident, he seemed singularly pleased with himself, smiling and waving to crowds after a court appearance on Monday, at which he explained that he was "thankful for the opportunity to spread the will of Allah." Officials here again dismissed the possibility of terrorism, even after Taheri-azar wrote a series of letters to the UNC campus newspaper detailing the Qur'anic justification for warfare against unbelievers, and explaining why he believed his attacks were justified from an Islamic perspective. |

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- A gunman opened fire Thursday at Los Angeles International Airport while standing in line at the ticket counter of Israel's El Al Airlines, officials said, killing two and wounding four others before an airline security officer shot him dead.
Authorities identified the gunman as 41-year-old Hesham Mohamed Hadayet, who came to the United States from Egypt in 1992 and had been living in Irvine, California, for the last two years. |

Zorkot, 26, was arrested Sept. 8 after he was observed wielding an AK-47 semi-automatic assault rifle in Hemlock Park, a popular destination for many Dearborn residents.
Zorkot, who is of Lebanese descent, was arraigned Tuesday in 19th District Court the same day city officials sent out a press release about an event that had happened four days prior, and one day after the Press & Guide had contacted city officials seeking comment.
According to Dearborn Mayor "Jack" O"Reilly, Jr., the release of information about the case was delayed until after Zarkot's arraignment and late in the day that marked the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. City officials feared that announcing the arrest of an armed Arabic man so close to anniversary of the attack would stir anti-Muslim sentiments and fan the flames of terrorism. |

Tampa, Florida - When 24-year-old Ahmed Mohamed and 21-year-old Yousef Megahed appeared in court, there was no question in the prosecutor's mind what this was all about. She says Mohamed was in possession of pipe bombs and materials that could have been made to make more bombs.
Sherri Jackson who was Megahed's neighbor until March says FBI agents told her they were terrorists.
Jackson says the FBI came to question her Sunday.
Jackson says things seemed suspicious
She says she saw lot of traffic, a lot of people going back and forth, oxygen tanks being delivered UPS and Fed Ex deliveries and a lot going on.
Former FBI agent and terrorist expert Oscar Westerfield if they are terrorist the FBI must find out who is involved in this thing and how far does it go.
Westerfield says much investigation has to be done, but he is concerned that the car was stopped with explosives 7 miles from a naval base that housed detainees, adding it doesn't look good. |

Report: Muslim Brotherhood U.S. Front Groups a Threat
By Jeffrey Imm
On September 10, Douglas Farah posted a CTB Blog report on a DOD memorandum "Analysis of Muslim Brotherhood's General Strategic Goals for North American Memorandum".
The Washington Times is reporting on additional comments on the Muslim Brotherhood from a Pentagon Joint Staff analyst and this week's congressional hearings.
The Washington Times reports that Pentagon Joint Staff analyst Stephen Caughlin issues a memorandum on September 7 that stated that the Muslim Brotherhood has a number of U.S. front groups posing as moderate organizations. Stephen Caughlin is a lawyer and military intelligence specialist on the Joint Staff.
The Washington Times report states that documents from the Holy Land Foundation trial "reveal new security threats from a network of more than 29 U.S. Muslim groups", and quotes Mr. Caughlin as stating "[t]hese documents are beginning to define the structure and outline of domestic jihad threat entities, associated nongovernmental organizations and potential terrorist or insurgent support systems".
The Washington Times report quotes Mr. Caughlin as stating that a 1991 Muslim Brotherhood memorandum "describes aspects of the global jihad's strategic information warfare campaign and indications of its structure, reach and activities", and identifies unindicted HLF trial co-conspirator Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) as part of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Per the Washington Times report, Muslim Brotherhood memo on organizing Muslims in North America said that all members "must understand their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within, and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions."
The Washington Times quotes Mr. Caughlin's memorandum as stating that "consequently, outreach strategies must be adjusted in the face of credible information that seeming Islamic humanitarian or professional nongovernmental organizations may be part of the global jihad with potential for being part of the terrorist or insurgent support system."
The Washington Times also quotes Mr. Caughlin as stating that government efforts at outreach in the recent ISNA conference "can cause those responsible for its success to so narrowly focus on the outreach relationship that they miss the surrounding events and lose perspective. This could undermine unity of effort in homeland security, lead to potential for embarrassment for the [U.S. government] and legitimize threat organizations by providing them domestic sanctuary."
Regarding congressional hearings this week with top security officials, the Washington Times reports that Senator Joseph Lieberman asked about operational efforts to counter Islamic extremism, quoting Senator Lieberman as stating "[b]ecause this is a war, but it is ultimately a war against, and with, an ideology that is inimical to our own values of freedom and tolerance and diversity,"
The Washington Times made the following report on FBI comments regarding this week's congressional hearings and the FBI views on countering Islamist ideologies:
"FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III revealed during the hearing that the FBI has no counterideology response other than its 'outreach' to Muslim-American communities so they 'understand the FBI' and address 'the radicalization issue,' he said. Asked whether the FBI has a responsibility to wage a battle of ideas within U.S. Muslim-American communities, Mr. Mueller said: 'You put that where I would say no, that it would not be our responsibility for any religion to engage in the war of ideas.' The FBI's responsibility, he said, is 'to explain that once one goes over the line and it becomes not a war of ideas but a criminal offense, this is what you can expect, and to elicit the support of those in whatever religious community to assist us in assuring that those who cross that line are appropriately investigated and convicted.' The comment shows that despite the creation of a dedicated FBI intelligence-gathering branch, the bureau remains limited to investigation and law enforcement."
The Washington Times also reported that:
"Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff also said nothing is being done domestically to battle Islamist extremist ideas. The department's incident management team, he said, is focused on civil rights or civil liberties -- not fighting terrorists' ideology. " |

[NY Sun title: "Anti-Semitism in Muslim Schools"]
"Shocked" is how Aisha Sherazi, principal of the Abraar Islamic school in Ottawa, described the reaction of the school's administration and board on learning last week that two of its teachers had incited hatred of Jews.
And "shocked" was how Mumtaz Akhtar, president of the Muslim-Community Council of Ottawa-Gatineau, described his own reaction to the front-page news about the Abraar school.
But they may have been the only two persons on the planet to be "shocked" to learn that teachers at an Islamic school are promoting anti-Semitism or other aspects of the Islamist agenda. The fact is, inquiries into Islamic schools repeatedly discover just such a radical Islamic outlook. Some examples:
*
New York City: An investigation by the New York Daily News in 2003 found that books used in the city's Muslim schools "are rife with inaccuracies, sweeping condemnations of Jews and Christians, and triumphalist declarations of Islam's supremacy."
*
Los Angeles: The Omar Ibn Khattab Foundation donated 300 Korans (titled The Meaning of the Holy Quran) to the city school district in 2001 that within months had to be pulled from school libraries because of its anti-Semitic commentaries. One footnote reads: "The Jews in their arrogance claimed that all wisdom and all knowledge of Allah was enclosed in their hearts. Their claim was not only arrogance but blasphemy."
*
Ajax, Ontario, 50 kilometers east of Toronto: The Institute of Islamic Learning is a Canadian emulation of the extremist Deobandi madrassahs of Pakistan. It focuses exclusively on religious topics, has students memorize the Koran, demands total segregation from the Canadian milieu, and requires complete gender separation. Former students complained about the school's cult-like devotion to its head, Abdul Majid Khan, and complained that it is a "twisted religion."
Then there are four leading Islamic schools in the Washington, D.C. area:
*
The Muslim Community School in Potomac, Md., imbues in its students a sense of alienation from their own country. Seventh-grader Miriam told a Washington Post reporter in 2001, "Being American is just being born in this country." Eighth-grader Ibrahim announced that "Being an American means nothing to me."
*
A textbook used at the Islamic Saudi Academy of Alexandria, Va., in 2004, authored and published by the Saudi Ministry of Education, teaches first graders that "all religions, other than Islam, are false, including that of the Jews [and] Christians." An ISA class valedictorian, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, was recently indicted for plotting to assassinate President Bush.
*
The U.S. government revoked the visas in 2004 of sixteen people affiliated with the Institute for Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America, of Fairfax, Va. In the words of the Washington Post, "That decision followed accusations that the institute, a satellite campus of al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, was promoting a brand of Islam that critics say is intolerant of other strains of the religion as well as Christianity and Judaism." In addition, the IIASA is under investigation for ties to terrorism.
*
The Graduate School of Islamic Social Sciences of Ashburn, Va., referred to as a "purported" educational institution in an affidavit justifying a raid on the school, had its financial records seized in 2002 on suspicions of links to terrorism.
Nor are schools the exception among Islamic institutions in North America. A recent study by Freedom House found a parallel problem of venomous anti-Jewish and anti-Christian materials in U.S. mosques. The most prominent American Muslim organizations, especially the Council on American-Islamic Relations, spew antisemitism and host a neo-Nazi. The same applies in Canada, where the head of the Canadian Islamic Congress, Mohamed Elmasry, publicly endorsed the murder of all Israelis over the age of eighteen.
So long as Muslim leaders simply declare themselves, in the spirit of Capt. Renault in the movie Casablanca "shocked, shocked" whenever news of Islamist supremacism leaks out, this cancer will continue unabated. The Islamic schools, the mosques, and other Muslim organizations like CAIR and CIC will continue their cat-and-mouse game so long as it works.
It won't work only when outside pressure is brought to bear on them by politicians, journalists, researchers, moderate Muslims, and others. They must state clearly and frequently the unacceptability of Islamist venom. Only then will today's fraudulent "shocked" reaction finally become sincere. |

As muslims expand as a percent of the population, this will only get worse. |

Which assertion is that?
Here is your assertion:
Quote: |
No matter how often you trot out your line about "the Muslims," you are still ignoring the simple fact that Islam is not what you portray. |
Do you have evidence for that? If it is not what I portray, what is islam?
Or, your original assertion:
Quote: |
Is there any chance of those of you who love to brand the actions of one person the actions of an entire religion realizing how it makes you look? |
The "one person", which is really quite a bit more than that, do not face any meaningful opposition by muslims at all. This is because, openly or not, the vast majority of muslims believe in islam. |
