The transcript thing isn't really new anymore, and it's not all that much of a hassle.

Tell them to get them from immigration (where they are on file) or fire you.
It's not your problem and it will go away.

This is not an immigration request (like the last time we went through this crap and we HAD to comply or lose our visa status) but from the MOE or your school/uni head.

No is a good word to learn.

It would be more appropriate to say

"*beep* YOU Foreign teachers who faked your degrees so now we have to go through all this nonsense"

Korea is perfectly entitled to ask for higher qualifications and to recheck said qualifications. Just as you are entitled to say "No".

I brought my transcripts with me. I also require sealed transcripts for my new employer. Blame the foreigners who forge docs, for this inconvenience, NOT the Korean Govt.

Well, if they're only asking to see the same stuff they've already seen when they issued the E2...how are they supposed to catch anyone new?

Good question, I don't know.

Very Happy

Well if the person failed to forge backup copies and makes a mistake when making the new ones...they can say "hey that doesn't match this"

People who go to that much trouble wouldn't forget backups.

They are entitled to CHECK qualification, sure. But REcheck and REcheck and REcheck again and again? F them. What *beep* are computers for if you can't get verified and then the computer actually SAYS you're verified and don't have to go through the bullshit again?

Uh, actually, since it's their country they're allowed to do just about whatever they want.

Sorta annoying, but meh, I can live with it.

Certainly they are. They are entitled to recheck the set of documents we handed in...in my case, 7 times so far.

It is perfectly clear that no one checked the diplomas and transcripts we already handed in. Some paper shuffler picked up the pile in the in basket, thumbed through to see they were all there and moved them to the out basket. No varification was done then, and it almost certainly isn't being done now.

All of this was supposed to have been done by Immigration BEFORE they issued the E-2.

I have nothing to hide. They can verify and re-verify mine all they want. What annoys me is the incompetence of it.

The korean government is basically saying, bend over and take it in the ass. No one is going to protect you, not even your embassy! But believe me, if koreans got the same treatment in other countries, their consulates would be jumping all over that governments actions. Its already been done in the philippines.
