The institute I work at urgently needs 2 English teachers, they prefer a couple, but that's not mandatory. The town we are in is small, but because the island is so small, there are big cities not too far away.
The couple presently working here have to return home due to a death in their family. I worked in Korea prior to coming here and I have to tell you this place is a dream compared to the Korean hogwans. The boss is young and basically leaves you to do your own thing. The contract requires you to be at school at least 8 hours per day, of which you teach a minimum of 5 hours. We are currently teaching much less than that and the classes are all small. Ages vary between 7 and 16 years, with one adult class in the evenings. Working hours are from 12.30pm to 8.30pm. If you are interested, send me a PM with your contact details and I will give them to my boss.

LOL That's like saying Korea just got flooded. Very Happy Anyway, yes, areas of Taiwan get flooded and hit by typhoons or earthquakes, but we are close to Chai-yi. In an area protected by the mountains and haven't been flooded or anything else since I've been here.

The salary is competitive for Taiwan. NT$57,000 per month. Thay also refund you NT$30,000 per person for airfare when you've been working for 2 weeks.

Try the Japan board.

There are a whole lot of Nova teachers that aren't getting paid, because the largest employer of foreign teachers in Japan is going belly-up as of this week.
