Here's a link:
http://createdigitalmusic.com/2007/01/18/namm-korgs-pocket-able-250-list-mini-kp-kaoss-pad/

There's a guy at the bottom of the list that says you can get them in Tokyo now for $100 US.

I'm in Busan, I'd prefer not to travel to Japan to purchase one. In Korea I'd be willing to venture a bit but I think I'd prefer to order one and get it shipped before Chuseok.

Not sure, but yr best bet is definitely Nagwon (or Nakwon) music arcade near Insa-dong.

Whereabouts is that? I haven't been to Seoul in a long time and never really knew it that well to begin with. Smile

Near the Anguk station you'll find Insa-dong. Ask anyone for Nagwon, or just look for the big grey building behind Insa-dong, next to the Coffee Bean. It's full of music gear shops.

Embarassed

That hurts me sooo much.

And you've never even heard my music.

It's closer to Jongno 3 ga on the orange and purple line... get off exit four or five (they're right across from each other)
if you're at a street corner when you get out of the exit, then cross the street right in front of you and you should see a sign just off to the right pointing down an alley to Nagwon Arcade...
if on the other hand you're facing more sidewalk when you get off the exit you need to turn around, walk past the other exit and follow the previous directions.

There are over 200 music shops in there.
Someone should have whatever you're looking

Yeah, and they get new stuff pretty quick. I got the new (gen 3) version of the mackie 1202 vlz mixer right after it came out.

Be aware, though, that prices are quite high on imported music gear, just like on other imported goods, and I'm pretty certain most Nagwon vendors work their pricing out together.

(also...I hate kaoss pads...their presets and bit depth just doesn't cut it...their ability to grab a couple samples and allow you to manipulate them on axes, though, is cool)

Yeah, I know how you feel about them from chondriticsound and iheartnoise. I admit, the bit depth can be a bit limiting. I really just want the flexibility of the XY pad, looper, etc. with battery power... I'll probably run it through a Zoom MultiFX pedal with lots of gain and distortion.

I guess the aim is to create really dirty breakcore wherever I go using a basic drum machine ala Boss DR202, Zoom SB246 or my newest (and most candy) acquisition the PSP Traxxpad. The busk value of having two FX units and a PSP really appeals to me.

So what are the chances of making it up to Seoul this holiday weekend considering the weather and crowds? Do you think KTX is booked solid already?
