Related to a similar current thread.

What are some good jokes in Korean? We had the one thread last year, but I need some new ammo.

I'll start:

What does Dracula drink for breakfast?
-코피

What do you call a Korean journalist who writes a story about the sun?
-해리 포터

What language do sheep speak?
-양말.

Hahahaha! I made that last one up myself.

I normally wear contacts to work, but if I wear glasses my students always comment on it, and I give them a little bow and say "안경하세요."

I don't give candy much, as I'm not into such gimmics, but when I do I usually get 마이쭈, as the mom-and-pop shop across the street has it. When my students see it they always say "ooooh, 마이쭈," and I say, "it's not your jju, it's my jju." Hahahahaha. *cough*

I used to have a friend with small eyes. When he laughed, he closed his eyes. His friends would say things like, "C'mon, KB, open your eyes. Can't do it, can ya? Don't walk into the wall."

It's amazing how many churches in seoul you can almost in every block and a huge cross sign on buildings.

The last school I used to work for, were playing a quiz game with my G6 class.

Me- "How of you in here are Christain?"
Students - "2/3 of the students raised up their hands"
Me- "for 50 bonus points, what country did Jesus born in?"

They were all silent and started to think for abit, then one student shouted out, "America"

Me- Does everyone agreed with Ji-hoo?, they all nodded their head.
Me- Ok listen again carefully, and give me your answer again, what country or city did Jesus born in?

This time Jihoo changed his answer to New York, couple of kids at the back shouted London, a girl with a pony tail said it was LA; I was utterly speechless.

Me- do you all really go to church every week, the students who previously raised up hands all nodded.

I rest my case from there!

Did you know that cows all over the world speak Korean? Seriously. The next time you're visiting another land, take a trip to a dairy farm. Listen to the cattle talking to each other. You'll hear:

Calf: 엄마~!
Dam: 모~?
(Be sure to stretch out the M sound in both words.)

Hey! It's not like this is the first lame joke in this thread. (Relax, I like lame jokes.)

I doubt it, I played this sort of game numerous times with them usually at the end of the lesson with there's time to spare, but usually I related the questions to something they have some common with such as korean dramas , computer games, k-pops and so on...the one who get the most point get a small reward at the end.

See all the pc bang around the all the building block, try asking them what it stands for or FTA for the advance students, it's sad seeing ESL learners using acronym with fully aware of its abbreviation.

In a similar vein...

What is Pepsi-Man's favourite school subject?
수학~~~! [ said in a throaty whisper; draw out the 아 sound; one hand on hip, one hand out front in a "Stop!" motion ]

Only funny if the person you're telling it to actually remembers who the hell Pepsi-Man is.

Haha I believe what he was referring to was the way you worded the question. It doesn't make sense, even to a native speaker.

"What country DID Jesus born in?" I just don't understand....?

Perhaps you should have said "What country WAS Jesus born in?"
They might have been able to answer properly, had the question been worded properly to begin with. Wink

A Korean is visiting in LA for the first time. He has been studying English but still feels hesitant to speak it. He gets on the elevator to go up to his apartment and slurp down some tasty ramen. As the door's are about to close, a tall African-American man gets on. The Korean has never seen an African American in real life before but has heard about how dangerous and brutish they are. He trembles in fear but knows it's best to not show it. Appease him and he won't cause any trouble, the Korean thinks. The doors close and the black man says, "Give me five." The Korean quickly drops to the floor, pushes himself up on his arms and starts counting off, "1...2...3..."
