A friend told me that all trains and buses are booked out for Chuseok.
I had a plan to turn up at a train/bus station on Monday and go to Gangwon-do. Is it going to be impossible?
Does anyone know from personal experience whether it's possible to get tickets in the normal way, or whether I should book them? |

| From my experience, head to the bus station. Most likely the trains are all booked. Buses are first come, first serve. Go early in the morning and be prepared to wait in line and don't be afraid to push and shove to get onto the bus--everyone else will be. |

| Seriously, you DO NOT want to be on a bus at chuseok. Trips that normally take 3 hours take 7 during chuseok traffic. Sounds like hell on earth to me. The only way it might be manageable is to take a night bus on Sunday night. Then at least you could sleep through the misery |
