I'm just curious if anyone here is working in Korea with a speech impediment. I have a slight stutter that is barely noticeable. I'm wondering if this will hold me back from landing a job in Korea or not? |

My guess is if it's a slight stutter, then you should be ok. I had a speech problem when I was younger, but pretty much grew out of it. You may find some schools are more picky then others, if that happens just keep looking. |

Thanks guys! I appreciate the honest advice. My one friend was over teaching in Korea and told me that no-one would even bother to hire me because of my stutter. It's good to know that my "friend" was being a dink. |

Hardly that bad thankfully! Just under severe stress. I heard Soju is the key to all stress relief in Korea. |

My first hagwon job I worked with a guy who had a slight stutter. It was so slight I didn't notice it until one night over beers he admitted he stuttered and that he was always really uptight about it. I had had no idea at all until then (and didn't think of him as particularly uptight, either). But once he mentioned it I did notice it a little.
Anyway, it certainly didn't hurt his employment status. He got a job easily and did well in it.
You'll do fine. Don't worry.
