Just read about this story, after Jesse Jackson reportedly said that Barrack Obama is acting like a White man, based on his "lack" of response to this story. Shocking, seems like things may not be too different in the Deep South in 2007, as they were in 1957...

I just watched the documentary "Street Fight" about Newark and the Mayoral race there.

Man, I think Jackson is a big chump.

The left is so desperate for examples of "Racism"......

How else can they keep 90% of African-Americans blind?

Huh? On the face of it, it seems like a pretty good example of racism. Let's see what the D.A has to say.

Here's a thought:

Jackson's statement is RACIST Idea

Chump indeed.

Jesse Jackson: Obama's 'acting like he's white'

Jackson was sharply critical of Obama's reaction to the case in Jena, Louisiana Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) The Rev. Jesse Jackson "sharply criticized" Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Tuesday over his reaction to the arrest of six black juveniles in Jena, Louisiana on murder charges, accusing the Illinois senator of "acting like he's white," according to a South Carolina newspaper.

The comments reportedly came after a speech at Columbias historically black Benedict College.

The State newspaper reports Jackson later said he did not recall saying Obama is "acting like he's white," but continued to condemn the Illinois Democrat as well as the other presidential candidates for not bringing more attention to this issue.

(Related: Residents: Nooses spark school violence, divide town)

He also said Obama needs to be "bolder" in his stances if he wants to make inroads in South Carolina. Obama currently trails rival Hillary Clinton, a senator from New York, in the Palmetto State by 18 points, according to a recent LA Times/Bloomberg poll.

Jackson, who ran for president twice in the 1980's, endorsed Obama's White House bid earlier in the year. Jackson won the South Carolina Democratic primary, where African American voters play an influential role, in both presidential bids.

Notice how Jesse Jackson never was nominated or elected President? I think he's bitter about that. Now that he's not campaigning, he can say whatever he wants. If Obama wants to be nominated, he must be a little more tactful that Jesse Jackson is.

Jackson is a jackass. I hope others read that article and the media starts to avoid him. He's such a hate spewing jackass when it suits his cause and then he hides behind the color barrier when it's projected at him.

God...I honestly can't wait for him to finally hang himself with a really stupid comment, so this chapter of hypocrisy can end.

It is an excellent example of racism.

Unbelievable that the schoolboard would overturn the expulsion of the students who hung the nooses on the tree. Prank my butt.

Jackson's comments indicate that he believes African Americans should all be towing the same line politically, because black people are having problems of prejudice and other issues. I disagree that Obama, just because he is black, has to speak the way Jesse Jackson wants. He is running for president of America, not only African Americans of Jesse Jackson's thinking.

As far as Jena, I believe they do have a racial problem. If black students have to ask about sitting under a tree that whites sat under, it shows there has been a history of closed-minded behaviour there. Also, the fact the school board only suspended saying it was a prank rather than expelling them as the principal recommended, it says they don't take prejudice seriously enough. Putting up nooses is a serious matter.
It is not 1950, they know what is racist and what is not racist behaviour of an intimidating nature. They should have been expelled. But I have little sympathy for the six students who beat up a student who was not found so far to be connected with putting up the nooses. Beating up one of the whiteys is prejudice as well.

That's my problem. Not all Blacks are having problems with prejudice. Not all Blacks are in jail...not all Blacks anything. Everyone's different and this very irritating effort to push everyone who happens to be Black into toeing this line is bogus and counterproductive.

This whole story is absurd all around. There shouldn't be a tree that "only Whites" sit at (they got rid of the tree in July...as if it was the tree's fault Rolling Eyes ). These Black kids shouldn't beat up anyone for whatever reason. This shouldn't have to happen in 2007.

If every case where kids were getting "jumped" was an attempted murder charge...well....the school crowding problem would be solved....and there would probably be no gangs in school because they would all be in prison. So, I see why people are annoyed about how this case was treated in comparison to dozens, hundreds or thousands of other similar cases.

Oh and I suppose I'm splitting hairs but Barack Obama is neither Black nor White...so in opinion it made Jackson's comments even more idiotic. But hey...I suppose that's splitting hairs...

What's the solution to this? What would be justice? Should the, "Jena 6," be punished for beating their fellow high school student unconcious? After all, the victim of the beating was unrelated to the noose incident and was not involved in anyway.

Should the "Jena 6," be charged with a hate crime because one of them may have been uttering racial slurs during the attack?

Should the students that placed the nooses in the tree several months before the attack took place, be charged with a hate crime? The students that placed the nooses in the tree were originally expelled however they were reinstated after their families told the schoolboard that they were low income and couldn't afford to move out of the town and give up their jobs, so that their children could graduate high school. Should that expulsion be reversed?

Frankly, I understand that the school board messed up by not expelling the students like the principal recommended but jumping a white student, because you are angry with white folks is not an acceptable defense for assault. I personally know someone who was jumped by some African Americans and lost his front teeth. There were no nooses that he put, he wasn't against African Americans, he just got jumped. You will never hear cases where a white person was jumped, because a black person didn't like white people. That will never hit the news. I am against prejudice. I think the school board messed up by not expelling the white students and brought bad publicity to their town and encouraged the violent atmosphere that ensued, because some African Americans felt they couldn't trust the powers that be and decided to take things into their own hands by buring a school building and getting into fights. I understand that, but it is completely wrong. Comparing this to Rosa Parks is ridiculous. Where are the voices of the African Americans saying that, anyway? Why is it only Jesse Jackson and Sharpton out there? I think those who disagree are afraid of being labeled as Uncle Toms and race traitors, so they don't want to bother.
