Has anyone here ever attended an assessment center as part of a hiring process?

I tried researching it on the internet and found that they typically include several components:

1. In-Out Box Task
2. Leaderless Group Discussion
3. Role Plays
4. Oral Communication / Presentation

Apparently, there are a number of trained observers that monitor the applicants during these tasks. The observors rate applicants on the competencies that the tasks are designed to elicit.

I'm curious if anyone here can provide some further insight, suggestions, recommendations based on their personal experience on how to pass an assessment centre.
