WASHINGTON ― Former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung Tuesday urged the United States and other nations to accept all of North Koreas conditions for denuclearization, saying he is convinced Pyongyang will give up its nuclear ambitions if its needs are met.
Members of the six-party talks should do all that North Korea wants, Kim said at the National Press Club in downtown Washington, and if North Korea still refuses to give up its nuclear development, then we should impose sanctions. |
Ive always thought this guy was just about the stupiest man to ever hold office in any country over the last 50 years, but even I am shocked how senile and out of touch with reality he is these days.
Please, I hope Lee Myung Bak sicks the prosecution on this guy and the current "president" for all the corruption and other dirty crap thats gone on over the last 10 years in this country. |

Disgusting. Kim Dae Jung says we should bend over yet again for the NK government, the most oppressive regime in the world. Perhaps we should give NK 500 million dollars more to bribe a Korean into earning another Nobel Peace Prize. God, I hate him for doing his level-best to legitimize the atrocities North Korea has perpetrated and still perpetrates. |

One of the main problems with many folks of the Uri party is that they rely too much on appeasement. What does NK want? They want to "liberate" South Korea by unifying the peninsula under the iron fisted magnanimity and benevolence of Dear Leader. Nothing less. I've talked to some university students who actually (I kid you not) don't think that life under KJI will be too bad, so long as Korea is united as one again. It makes me think (and shudder if true) just how widespread is this mode of thinking? |

It should be pointed out that Kim did not say that South Korea should always do every single thing that North Korea demands, now and till the end of time. The phrase "all that North Korea wants" was referring specifically to the conditions that North Korea has laid out for disarming.
And he further recommended that if North Korea does not reciprocate, sanctions should be imposed.

Well, that's probably what old man Kim Il Sung believed back in the heyday of international revolution. And, granted, it's probably what Baby Kim continues to promote publically as his overall agenda, mostly because if he said "my number one aim is to keep keep my booze and porn addictions satisified with yankee dollars", the average Nork would be going "Huh? That wasn't in our civics lesson!" |

The ROK **will** accommodate DPRK requests. That is a given. That is the starting point of the argument. Kim Jong Il is having this dialogue from a position of total strength.
The sight of an ROK leader heading to Pyongyang for a summit the south effectively initiated, highlights perfectly why the ultimate outcome will never be on ROK terms (and rightly so). |

Lee Myeong Bak can not prosecute them. He is just as guilty. He's already been found guilty of land tax fraud. Just wait. More things will come out if he opens Pandora's Box.
The even funnier part is the widespread knowledge of Lee's corruption, yet he's still going to be elected president. I guess lack of a better option contributed to that.

So what do they want?
If they want us to build the ma Disneyland I say yes?
If they want some food and Medicine I say yes?
What do they want?
Too many are willing to say no before they actually hear the answer.
What do they want?

OTOH: ha! Good description of the Communist principles of Dear Leader: "Workers of the world...you have nothing to lose but your booze & porn!" Is that how it went?
But I agree. Kim has everything to lose with an assault on the South. Let's not forget also that although few in the South might say it publicly, the general feeling is that unification by a collapse of the NK regime is something to be wary of...if not downright terrifying. The post-1990 German experience has put a sobering perspective on the prospect of re-unification.

Let it happen. Because all of a sudden KJI wakes up the next day to find out he accepted 50 million people that don't like his ideas and 15 million are trained to kill him.
The citizens of Korea waje up to the fact that Uncle KJI isn't the loveable Uncle we all thought he was.
The US military realises the whole pennisuala became a combat zone and good bye Korea.
So is it a bad thing, NO! just wake up and learn to exploit the situation. Seriously let NK win and redisgnate targets and its a home goal for North Korea. |
