Whose fault is it that we need to check our degrees and transcripts so many times?
Korean Government. There is a simpler way, yet it eludes them.

Fake degree holders. They caused the mess in the first place.

fake degree holders wouldn't be a problem if proper control was in place.

It is amazing that a country that is the second most internet wired in the world and where 1st and 2nd graders carry cell phones that the Government is incapable of a nation-wide data base of foreign teachers and their credentials. You should be able to apply ONCE, have immigration verify it, and be good to go forever. Immigration wouldn't be so swamped if they weren't doing the same damn thing over and over and over.....and still getting it wrong!

It's certainly not the fake degree holders' fault. EVERYONE should have their credentials checked as a matter of course before ANYONE gets a work visa. If Immigration would get off their ass and do their jobs in the first place, MUCH fewer fakers would slip through the cracks and actually get visas.

Yeah, they have fake degrees, but whose fault is it they GOT the visas?

People can fake degrees AFTER the fact.

Lets say John Doe gets his E-2 visa using a degree from Podunk College. Then after he gets his VISA, he goes and gets a fake degree from Princeton or Harvard.

But why would you do that? If the system was EFFICIENT and kept track of people properly, that sort of switcheroo would be caught...

It's amazing my school and/or immigration can't call the phone number listed on my transcripts and sort it out.
