What are the best things to do in Taipei besides shopping and seeing Taipei 101? |

The National Palace museum is the best thing to do in Taipei, it is regarded as the best Chinese museum in the world. Dansuei (sp) is nice to visit, the Chaing Kai-shek memorial, sun yat sen memorial and concert houses are nice of you're into that kind of thing and they are at the same location. The Longshan temple is interesting, as are a score of other temples. There are also several hot springs/spas very close to Taipei. Some people like snake alley but, I thought it was just a dirty boring area. |

The big night markets are great. Pick up a map of Taipei at the airport and visit them all.
Are you in Taipei for a holiday or a visa run? It's not the most interesting city in Asia for a holiday. |

Thank you. I have heard about snake alley. The animal cruelty would really get to me, so I can't go there. Those poor creatures. |

Visit the military Martyrs' Shrine, esp. to see the drill demonstration.
It's quite impressive...you'd almost think the KMT actually defeated the Japanese and the communists. |
