I thought there was a thread on long stay hotels in Seoul but I can't find it.
I want to come to Seoul without a contract and find a job once I am here so I can check out the school and director personally. Can you suggest any specific hotels and locations at decent rates and conveniences?

they're tiny, but you're just looking to stay temorarily anyways, right?

prices range from 200k to 500k per month, at least 3 years ago when I was in Korea.

I second Goshiwons/Goshitels/Onerooms. Everything is included in them - even rice and noodles. You get free cable tv and internet connection in your room, and a mini fridge in many. They're not ideal longterm because they can be cramped and sometimes noisy, but they're the cheapest option. I've got most of the goshiwons sussed!

I personally recommend Hilltop Goshiwon for the first timer in Seoul. It is located near exit 13 of Seoul Rail Station, so it couldn't be more convenient. It's also got a really cheap price - between US$100 (for smallest room, no window and sleep on floor) to US$200 (for larger room, window, bed and fridge). It was reasonably quiet, and only thing I didn't like was the single bathroom out on the landing - a bit cold and unsafe for females. It can take both male and female.
