The sound on the missus's V3000 is being strange.
Before messing about with drivers last night the headphone jack only gave output when the headphones were plugged in when the computer was first turned on, output would be through the headphone jack and speakers would be off. Taking out the headphones though and putting them back in would result in them not working and the sound coming out the speakers. Sound from the speakers couldn't be controlled by the volume buttons.
After messing about with some drivers as instructed by the HP fool I talked to I now have controllable sound from the headphones volume will go up and down and mute but the speakers are now on and can't be controlled by the sound.
It would appear that it's a driver problem of some sort. Not sure what though.
I've read on Linux sites that people have had the same problem running it in Linux and in Linux it's an easy fix
. I've not seen anybody mention this problem in XP though.
Any ideas. |

Keep trying HP and see if they can help. I'll bet you need to reload your OS or at least the drivers.
I know there were audio troubles with my 2000 model notebook. They updated the drivers on their site a few times. |
