A friendly letter from the police saying they are on your side? You're complaining because...?

Complaining? Where did I complain you moron. Jesus.
When you girlfriend ran off with your best mate she obviously took your sense of humour too. |
SeoulShakin is a chick, and a fine one at that!!
You are lucky that it seems you have a friendly police force, always a good thing. |

^My apologies.
So, when your boyfriend ran off with your best friend, did he take your sense of humour as well by any chance? |

Did that really happen? Awesome if it did. A friendly letter from the chief of police welcoming you...in English??? Cool.
Hard to believe tho. |
Good PR. Decent diplomatic gesture.
Question remains: so what's the hidden agenda?
Metro-politan Police are so POLITE one suspects they might have something to do with POLITICS
Why don't we try & poll people to see what they think |

Haha you said you were terrified of being gang raped, etc. I was simply trying to get across that I don't see what the problem was. Sorry it was misinterpreted.
Oh, and thanks for changing your complaint to the female perspective |

I'm jealous.
I lived in Changnyeong Gun for a year and I never got a letter like that from the cops. I did get help from one of their finest one night when I was too drunk to find my car, though. |

This arrived this morning:
Dear **** *******
Welcome to Korea
I am KIM BYEONG GU, the Chief of Chang Nyeong police station. I am responsible for the local safety in Chang Nyeong where you are living. I would like to thank you for your interest in Korea.
Chuseok, one of the biggest Korean national holidays, is coming soon. During this holiday, people come together and share pleasant times with their families and relatives. I hope you have a great time with your close friends, even though you are far away from your country.
I understand the difficulties you may encounter as a guest in our country. Your good friends, the Kyeongnam National Police are willing to help you with any difficulties you may have including crime victimization, human rights violation and so on. Please do not hesitate to contact us concerning any of these matters.
Please accept our best wishes, and we hope you enjoy your stay in Korea.
Chief of Chang Nyeong Police Station.
Now I'm terrified. What does this mean? Is there some sort of traditional Chuseok foreigner lynching over the next few days? Violations? What kind of vilolations? Personal violations? Will I be gang raped? |
Nice touch and, assuming you didn't do it up, perfect English.
I do know what B.S. Dos means though. It is creepily nice - and from the cops!
But still, my instinctive reaction was "what an impressive gentleman". |

I think they're just being nice. Always good to know the cops are on your side and concerned for your safety, even if there is nothing to be concerned about.
It can be hard being the only foreigner in your area. My friends and I are pretty much the only group of foreigners in our part of Uiwang (most of Uiwang). I live in a villa in an older, more run down part of town, and the foreigners who do live in Uiwang seem to be limited to high rise buildings in a nicer area. |
