Thanks.

get used to it, not much you can do except don't give out your email address, keep a "private" one for friends etc, use web based email programs like yahoo for forums like this, change accounts when they get too full of spam etc

btw on my "private" account I continuely get spam in Spanish. How they got it is beyong me Very Happy

BTW my favs are about getting my boobs enlarged and one that keeps saying "saw you in church, loved what I saw" and I never go to church

btw wife gets p$nis enlargement and Korean porn showing women getting it by a horse Rolling Eyes

i've got a hotmail account. i set the filter to 'exclusive' and give a quick check through the junk box every couple of days to see if anyone who i wasn't expecting, but who i still would like to hear from, has sent me an email. works pretty well.

The Hotmail filter is overly protective, sadly. My opt-in mailing list that I've used all of three times in two years has been tagged as SPAM, thus tossing anything I send out on it into the spambox (including messages and how to unsubscribe). Plus Hotmail frequently blacklists kornet.net which is KT. That part particularlly annoys me when I try to email people.

Plus when I empty my mailbox, it's less than 25% full. But if I don't delete the spambox for a week, it fills up and I get a warning that my 2MB Hotmail account is full.

In comparison, the advertising filter on my website blocks a couple hundred messages a day that try to reach me. At least then if a message is bounced back as spam, it says why it was and a person can resend with the corrections to get around the filter. Thus no one I know will email me and think I'm ignoring them and nearly all spam is blocked.

I've been using McAfee Spam Killer for the last six months, and have had good luck with it. You can find it in the usual places one finds software.. it's especially good for cleaning out my Hotmail accounts. They're actually usable again.

whatthefunk For what i have heard you should never click the unsudscribe button on junk mail because then the people who sent the email will know they have a live address and will send you more spam.

GEEZ! Why is everyone here always complaining about Spam? It was the same on the "What did you get for teacher's day" posts. I couldn't even bring myself to read the posts here! What's wrong with Spam?
If you come across some Spam, try chopping it up into small cubes. Start to fry it in a pan, and add onions or chopped green pepper if that's your thing. Break three or four eggs into a bowl, add a little milk and salt, and when the mixture in the pan is cooked, add the eggs. Stir frequently to prevent sticking. When it's almost cooked, add some processed cheese and mix everything together. If you've got some salsa or some Thai hot sauce, that goes great with it.
So no more Spam! If you cook this a lot, however, you might want to invest in some coronary paddles and keep them within reach of the kitchen table.
If you can find canned chili, Spam, garlic powder and tabasco make a great addition. And if you want to go native, take a Spamilicious-stab at pudajiggae.
Spam also makes a great catfish bait. When I was a uni student, if the fish were not biting, I would get cases of the stuff from my dad. And I ended up in the same place as all you Spam-haters!!! So it can't be all bad, eh?
Spam is in the Chusok box of choice for millions worldwide. Stop dissing it. It's SPAMTASTIC!!!

Well, I have had the same email for years, have been clicking the unsubscribe button the whole time, and I have no spam at all. I maybe get spam once every two months. I must be doing something right...
