				Greetings, all.

I am working through Judy Carter's book on stand-up comedy, which is a great book for people who are interested in doing stand-up comedy professionally. In this book, Judy recommends a buddy system, whereby you and your comedy buddy share the material you've been working on once a week, give each other encouragement, etc.

In my case, since I live in Pohang, the buddy should live in or near Pohang also. It doesn't matter if the buddy is male or female, Korean or foreign, but it should be someone with career aspirations in comedy.

Please contact me through the group I have organized, the Seoul Stand-Up Comedy Meetup Group, the URL of which is http://standup.meetup.com/12/

Thank you and Happy Chusok! |

Just don't bring your act to Busan, you'll get busted by the police.

Especially don't make fun of Koreans. |

good luck! better luck to you if you can get a korean involved. this place could really use some good stand up. i was in the states with my wife for two months, and i'd see a show every now and again, and go red in the face. my wife couldn't understand what was so funny. mostly because they were speaking too fast for her to understand, but also because she couldn't fathom the idea of a guy standing on a stage and talking as being as funny as to cause the kind of reaction that i had.

seeing some of the things that koreans call 'comedy' really makes me sad for them.

i'd even really like to see some of my favorite stand up comedians translated, plagiarised, and performed by koreans, just to get the ball rolling.

i honestly and sincerely wish you the best of luck with what is sure to be a pretty tough crowd. |

I was something of a decentish stand up back in the 90s. Smalltime stuff and paid in beer and a couple of crisp tenners but still, hrdest bit is dealing with the hecklers. But this one always went down a treat...

Heckler shouting crap:

"Isn't care in the community great? except when they come to my show"

"Are you having fun son? Its better than being chained up to your bed

in a padded cell, spit dribbling out of your gob" |
