Anyone know if they get AFN down in Gwangju? I was looking at the AFN site and it appears there is not coverage down there, but wanted to double check.
Also does anyone have a satellite dish that can tell me what their experience has been with that? |

Depending on what ends up being your TV option cable or satelite you may get AFN Prime as one of the channels ... In a different part of Seoul it is included as part of my cable TV package ... Unless you qualify for an AFN decoder box that is likely to be the best that you can do ...

that wont work outside of the seoul area and i think daegu or some areas near the dmz but i bet most of those soliders live on post, what korean cable companies do is actually pirate the over the air afn prime signal and put it on their cable systems. the military has tried to get them to stop this for years now. the usfk needs to put the main afn out over the air because so many soliders in seoul live off post and thats the main way they get "command info" to them in case of an emergency |

I don't live in Seoul ... AFN Prime (but not any of the other AFN cnannels) is included as a standard part of the cable package that I have (not the basic package but the top level package bundled with my internet for 27,000 won a month) ... The decoder box is the main way that they give access to all of the AFN channels to people who are entitled to it ... rather than through the normal publically available cable packages ...
