There's also the issue of abrogation of verses in the Qur'an. Those unfamiliar with Islam would not be aware of that idea. It's the idea that a later-revealed verse can nullify an earlier-revealed verse.
Yet another issue is fatwas: who can and cannot issue them. BJWD evidently sees Islam as a monolithic Borg-like entity. It's not and the various schools of Sharia (jurisprudence) reflect that. |
