Check out the avatar! That's me at heart! Very Happy

matko, i hope i never meet you in person, for fear that you wouldn't look exactly like that. it'd be like finding out there's no santa clause.

i hope i'm not displaying an overwhelmingly large amount of ignorance here, but what is the correlation betwen 'btm' and you getting laid? does btm stand for something i'm not familiar with? go easy on me if it's totally obvious, which i fear it very well may be as we've gone three pages with no one else questioning it.

When I was a partner in an Engineering company in Vancouver I had a lot of resources and all my friends most of whom were bums would constantly ask me for favours. If you needed to move at 2AM on a Monday, Just Ask Dan. If you couldn't pay your rent on time, Just Ask Dan. If you needed a bogus employment reference, Just Ask Dan. etc etc etc. So the nickname became a running joke and a term of endearment by my friends and it sort of stuck.

hi dan. i need a job. hell... as long as i'm asking, a girlfriend waiting at the airport would be nice too.

my moninker comes from a character of the same name from a japanese animated television series. he's sort of the symbolic antithesis of the guy in my avatar... not that my avatar is visible all that often.

Yeah, I'm wondering too. Is there a currency that uses "BTM" as its symbol? If so, that would do the trick. Smile

Add me to the list of girls on the board along with Katydid, JadeRedux, Canuckistan, Desultude, the MIA Noodle/Rike, Shevek, and a bunch more. I thought the avatar would be a dead givaway

The myth of the missing knob should be settled.

Originally I was "peppermint knob". It's a candy from Newfoundland (home) and no, knob doesn't really have any sexual connotations there. (dirty minded non-north americans! Laughing )

Anyway, after the first Dave's do at Yellow, when I got asked repeatedly about my knob, I decided to drop it. The problem is that now my nic sounds like I'm a wannabe Spice Girl Rolling Eyes

When I first checked out the site, the first poseur I was impressed with was The Great Wall of Whiner.

I thought of something that would come across as incredibly pompous to those not paying attention, and light-hearted but not self-deprecating in the usual Canadian kind of way.

I figure I'll be missing my favourite kind of cheddar in Korea (I'm leaving in Dec), so I chose this name as a tribute:

'old/fort'

Baldersons makes the tastiest.

Thanks for this thread. I was curious about some of the handles here.

I'd just started a new job and was surprised that my students had been taught to say zed instead of zee. I just couldn't think of anything interesting at the time.
