I live on the 25th floor and the water pressure is just not what it should be. I've bleached the hell out of my toilet and it clogs anyways. I never clogged a toilet in my life. Screw this. My window is not on the windy side of the building and god help you if you are on floors 1-24.

They sell some stuff that is like the Korean equivalent to 'drano'. Try using that... my first year here, my toilet clogged alot, too.. .for some reason, they must think people have smaller tuurds in Korea or something because I've heard of it happening alot... plus, I mean, what if you need to take a dump? U just gonna hang your arse out over the side and....?

from what i've heard, it's the toilet paper. that's why they have the little trash cans next to the toilets. makes me glad i'm back in the land of real plumbing.

My Seoul apartment, that's true. It's an older building with smaller pipes and the TP clogs WAY too easily. In my other apartment in Daejeon, it's a newer building with proper pipes and not one clog yet.

Yuck. If you are flushing toilet paper, stop right now. Try plunging and then flushing several times and then try using your toilet again.

There should be a water tank on top of your building to create pressure though it still can be weak as I find my feces often don't flush adequately here on the first flush. Those are what the plastic containers on top of buildings are since Korea doesn't have water towers.

If you've blocked it up with solid waste, get a wire coathanger, unfold it and push it down the toilet and jiggle it about a bit. I had to use this method when I bunged up my u-bend with an absolute monster cable a few months ago. (I have a picture of it if anyone is interested - THAT'S how big it was. It also took twenty minutes to come out.)

A while back I accidentally knocked a container of Q-tips out of my medicine cabinet and into my toilet bowl. I wasn't too keen to go fishing, so I figured I'd flush 'em down...outta sight, outta mind. Apparently they formed some sort of mesh-work, creating the foundation for a super clog that was well beyond the capabilities of the ordinary plunger. I had to pick up one of those toilet snakes, the tool of the professional toilet de-clogger, and spent many cursing, splashing minutes getting the goodies to get gone. It worked in the end, but my suggestion would be to invest in one of those bidet toilet seats and gently squirt your troubles away rather than de-clogging everytime or dropping a dookie off the 25th floor.

I read about a guy once who fell to his death while trying that. He was drunk.

OP, are they yanking maintenance fees from your salary every month? If they are you should be screaming for them to fix that freaking toilet as it is a fundamental God-given right (which you are paying for)!

You may offend me if you post the picture of your Monster Turd but yoo would most defininitely not offend the more veteran posters such as Jongro Guro, Roch, Ubershiesse, et-al.

In other words, post the photo of your huge poo-poo. It's be a real gas!

Sincerely,

R

And if you do decide to defficate over the side of your apartmet balcony as well, make sure you realize that you really need to stick your ass really far out there or else the tuurd will just land on your balcony and not go over the side.. .one time, when I was standing watch in the Navy at the back end of the ship, no one was around to relieve me to go take a dump... so I tried just hanging my arse over the back of the ship and letting loose. After I was done, I thought nothing more of it... the next morning, however, there was a big pile of poo right there... it was so dark I couldnt actually see that I'd missed the night before... I had to deal with some serious gestapo crapp to avoid allowing any to figure out I was the one who'd committed the deed, but thats another story...
