Along with a friend and occasionally a larger group, I have been going to the RMT (Rocky Mountain Tavern in Itaewon) on Sunday mornings for breakfast for well over a year, almost every Sunday. This tradition is now over.

The breakfast frankly sucks, and I can't believe I didn't realize it earlier (really, I can't). Why is it so awful? Here's my list of reasons:
- the scrambled eggs are frequently dry and occasionally cold
- the bread is often stale
- the male staff members, with the exception of one of the Korean guys, are rude (the female staff members are generally nice though)
- ordering 'extra' of a food only sometimes yields extra in anything but price (a thousand won, to be exact).
For example, if one person orders extra eggs and the person next to him does not, both will still receive the same amount of eggs. Extra bacon, also at a thousand won, only gets you one extra piece. To be fair though, extra hash browns is quite a bit more than the normal amount.
- serving time which flucuates wildly, and for no apparent reason. Some days you'll get your food twenty minutes after ordering. Other days it's double that. There seems to be no correlation to how many people are in the pub. Speaking of which:

Last week, on September 23rd, I was there with a group of three. We ordered and, because we were having a good conversation, didn't notice the time passing. Before we knew it forty five minutes had gone by. I was ready to leave, but the others in my group insisted upon giving them a solid hour. The hour mark came and went, and when I insisted, we got up to leave.
After this we went to the Irish Wolfhound, where we got a much better breakfast, for roughly the same price, in under twenty minutes.

Yeah, I know I should have come to my senses earlier, but at least going there for so long has established that the bad food and service are consistent, often repeated phenomena as opposed to being flukes. And better to learn from your mistakes late than never, right?

God do you count you count your pennies too? Be glad there is no tip. Those K-workers make 3k/won an hour. Think how much fun you would have serving Koreans at $3 an hour.

If low wages were the reason, then how do you account for all the other restaurants in Korea (for breakfast and otherwise) having food and service of an acceptable standard?

I agree! Its shit! It's korean staff are ...ok.....the western staff seem to be the asses......or wasted....or hungover.

The wolfhound is MUCH better! Better food. Better service and staff.

That place sucks just for the mere reason that they ask you to leave your booze outside when going there for the breakfast.

Try the Flying Pan near Hamilton Hotel. They have fast service and great food. It is a little pricey, but worth it. To find it, turn left on the street that runs along side the Hamilton Hotel's parking lot, it is a short distance up the hill on the right. Try the french toast with bananas. Yummy.

Nice one 'mike'. I take it you're either trolling or completely retarded. So tell me, how far is that 3k and hour going?
