If your particular group of students are having a hard time with catching, may I suggest a nice little game of Dodge-ball? Nothing like a trial-by-fire to improve that hand-eye coordination.  |

You're absolutely right, It was a broad generalization so that people could see that their green apples are just the same as someone else's yellow apples.
So how do you like them apples?

Back on the butterfingers subject. One time I threw a ball at a student but sideways and about 1 metre in front of him so it wouldn't hit his face. Anyway, he holds his hands out to catch and it rebounds 90 degrees off his hands and smack into his face , which of course breaks his glasses. Mom, was furious(understandably), but it was such a fairy throw(it was a soccer ball) and if had any skills catching it wouldn't have happened.
I agree with the kids being less co-ordinated. |

for example.. just last week holland beat korea in table tennis (ping pong)
90% of korean boys i speak to love watching and playing soccer.
And.. everybody thinks they study all day and night.. thats a laugh.
ask your students.. what did you do last night? they will say study
then ask.. did you watch tv? they'll say yes. did you play or chat on the internet? they'll say yes.. did you see your friends? they'll say yes..
at least a very large majority will. when they have free time they do what interests them.. which is usually pc, music or tv. they are hopeless at most ball sports because they choose to do something different..
i always get my butt kicked on battle net.. i dont have a chance because thats what they do for fun where as I drink beer and they can't compete with me there.. same same.
it comes down to the individual.. if they like something and practice they generate skills. if they dont they are no good at it. |
