Since "cosplay" first hit Taiwan little over a decade ago, its enthusiasts have been dressing up like their favourite manga characters and gathering at cafes, parks and manga expos across the island.

I was watching some bizarre cosplay wrestling show on something called the J Channel. It was all Japanese. I think it might have had Korean subtitles. It was like GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) from back in the '80s, early '90s or something but worse. Far worse.

A friend went to see them in Vegas (GLOW). When he watched the TV show he always noticed the crowd sounds were rather muted. He realized why. The men in the audience would shout things like "punch her in the tts!", "finger her snatch!" etc.

Cosplay exists in Taiwan? Oh well, I guess they're lucky these guys aren't crashing their party.
