this really does sound insulting, ellie.

I thought it was a fair question. I've heard most of these Foreign-Guy/Korean-Gal marriages are arranged.

I tired of people jumping all over me and telling me that the question "Did you genuinely fall in love" is insulting. Maybe I should have worded it differently or something. Meanwhile, it's done, so I and everyone else will just have to live with it. I'm sorry if I offended people, but please quit getting all over my case about that and other things about my post.

Or at least explain what it is that you're getting at.

I'm Canadian and married to a Korean. Married just over a year and we have a little girl now.

No particular reason why I chose Korean over Canadian. I just happened to be in Korea during my "marrying" years, I guess. Met the wife, she's super-cool and very NON-Korean. We hit it off, things are great.

Our daughter will most definitely NOT be growing up in Korea. This is my passion, and thankfully the wife is on board. She lived in England for 2 years and has visited Canada with me twice now. She knows the West is better.

Adjustments: Just a change in diet, I guess. A few minor quirks, but nothing terrible.

Feel free to PM me if you want to get into more detail.

I know many guys come over here from other countries and wind up marrying Korean women. I'm interested as to why you wound up marrying a Korean as opposed to someone from your own country.

Is there or are there special qualities about Korean women that you like better than those of women from your own country?

Did you genuinely fall in love?

What have been the adjustments you've had to make?

If you've had kids and are still in Korea, do you plan to stay and put them through the Korean educational system?

Lots of questions, I know, but I just curious about these things.

Finally, besides just being curious, I'm interested to know if any of you men would agree to be interviewed on a more in-depth basis by me. If so, please pm me or e-mail me at elliemk at mindspring dot com. Thanks for your responses.

I married and divorced from a Korean. I don't think her being Korean has anything to do with it. It's all the same, there's nothing to find. People are people. Maybe there's something you can ask me that makes me realize something. If you want to contact me that's fine. [email protected]
