What is it about Koreans and doing the finger / using the f word?

Below is a link to some pretty disgraceful behavior by a Korean player (from Jeonbuk Motors) after his team lost to a Japanese club.

Quite a sizable contingent of Japanese fans too, esp. given that this was played in Korea.

At before someone jumps me and says that its more common in the west, I�m referring to why Koreans ADULTS seem to use it so often. Giving it to a referee is extremely petulant. It�s seems people here don�t realize how offensive it is, otherwise I wouldn�t see adults giving it to the kids.

TV3 punished for showing finger gesture

TV3 is being punished for showing NZ First MP Ron Mark repeatedly make an obscene gesture in Parliament.

Speaker Margaret Wilson has informed the network it is banned from filming in the debating chamber for three days.

TV3 broadcast images of Mr Mark repeatedly giving the finger to National MP Tau Henare on August 1.

Under the rules, media are restricted in the debating chamber to filming either the Speaker or MPs who are on their feet to speak.

Mr Mark was sitting at the time.

Despite being an offensive gesture, the middle finger should not be deemed indecent as it's a part of the body able to be seen all the time (except when wearing gloves, and then you can still see "fingers"). It's an expression, a show of natural emotion, and they're nothing wrong with that. It's better to express than to become violent.
