TGIF. Time on my side/hands...

I just made a blog entry about a cool game.

http://eflclassroom.ning.com/profiles/blog/show?id=826870%3ABlogPost%3A8305

If you have some time on your hands, try this great game which uses google images and asks students (or teachers YOU) to guess the google search entry. I can't get over 100 pts.

What's your best score? Can you crack the top 10?

280 on my first go. I think typing skill really helps.

<edit>

330 on my second go. A number of the images, maybe 1/2 were the same.

</edit>

287 on my first go, I'm going to try this puppy again. Very Happy

I find sometimes its really easy and I can guess it in a second, other times it can be kind of random and hard to guess.

256 - I was going for abstract concepts until I realized that Occam's razor applied to this activity.

322 - not bad!

I think it helps that I'm quick when it comes to typing though. If you're a slow typer, it's not going to be easy, which might be difficult for Korean students since most of them can't type in English very fast.

I suck at this (and I'm a fast typist)!

234 after about 5 tries. I'll try again tomorrow, maybe I'll get a better selection of images...

First time was difficult and I had a ridiculous 120-something. Second time the images were much easier and I had 286.

This game would be a great game to modify, make a powerpoint, and play as a class game.

Cool game I think too advanced for my students.

I may show it to a few of my better kids.

I only got 135.

My thinking also. I made a quick one, took me only 10 min slurping noodles at home during lunch. I'll post a real and more educational one later (or a few, I like the idea and a handy thing for even just a writng prompt , never mind a game). Camtasia is the greatest tool for any of this kind of stuff and it makes stuff like this soooo easy to do. but you have to use his google montage - the original game.

They scroll quickly, you have to write them fast.....

PS. Cbc - thanks for showing some solidarity with us other image invalids....

131. I'll need to try again.
The few I got were immediately obvious, so I got time bonuses.
Definitely shootin' in the dark on the rest.

Cool game, but far too difficult for ESL students. It's hard for ESL teachers! I agree with someone that said this would be way cool modified for a classroom game. THAT could be the coolest ESL game ever.
