Called the number... everything went fine until she asks me what my job is...
I tell her her I'm an English teacher... she says hold on a second...
Sorry but we do not issue Credit cards to English teachers since they have one year contracts...
What now? |

If you are hakwon teacher you are hooped and the only alternative is a secured card from one of the banks.
If you work in a public school, call back again and when they ask what your job is tell them you work at xxx yyyy zzzzz hak yo.
It does make a difference. |

Here's an update. KEB had no idea what I was talking about. SC said hell, no. And KB said only if you make 50 mil a year. Fucking K-trolls; I guess they changed the rules so the evil white oppressors can't get a credit card and start buying expensive things for the delicate innocent Korean females.
I'm going to have the biggest orgasm when this country goes down in flames. |

Got my Samsung AnyPass plus inter card last week. Works like a charm and no monthly interest fees. I think \it's best feature is that you can use it as a debit card anywhere in Korea and abroad. |

American credit cards are accepted in shops, but they often do not work on Korean websites. Also, to pay off an American credit card bill, you have to get money to US which can be inconvenient and expensive. |

It should say "international" on the top left corner. |

Yes, and charge as well.
Mine is international, though it doesn't state so on the card. Keep in mind, it costs KW 12,000/year to have an international card, and KW 6,000/year domestic. At least that was what I was told by Samsung Card about 2 years ago, so best to call and find out for sure. |

1. I'm paying 12,000 a year for my card so it can be used outside Korea; it's half that in Korea.
2. Once you can log in, click on Foreigners Account and you will see all your transactions in English.
UPDATE: The English phone number for applying for the card, information on your account, or any other questions is 02 2000 8438 |
