Can anyone tell me if the plug sockets in Korea are the same as those in Australia (as something I found on line seems to suggest)? Thanks

No, they're not.

Sorry, nothing else to add.

I'm Australian. You need an adaptor.

Australia's sockets aren't like anything you'll find overseas (at least any of the thirty or more countries I have spent time in).

I bought mine in Yongsan, Seoul in the big I'Park Department Store. It is a universal one that works in 50 different countries or something. But I guess any department store will probably hold them.

If you're still in Australia, you should be able to definitely find sockets at places such as D*ck Smith and Tandy Electronics and probably at Target, K-Mart or Big W. The voltage is the same, just the sockets are different. If you happen to be from Sydney, I found them at the Woolworths downtown opposite Sydney Town Hall and above Town Hall station.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your help. I'm actually British, but lived in Australia for a while so still have a few adaptors for there lying around-when I searched for somewhere online to buy a Korean adaptor one of the sites suggested that they were the same, which I was pretty surprised about, but I just thought I'd check before I went out looking for a Korean one. Thanks again!
