Hey there.
I know just about nothing about computers, so any help will be appreciated.
I am looking to buy a laptop. Seeing that I don't have a PC back home, and my television in Korea caved in two weeks after I got here, and Korean telly isn't all that great anyway, I need some distraction.
So I saw the LG S900. Big momma.
I see no reason why I would want to carry the thing around (my school is well equiped with PC's, so if I need to, I can just carry an external hard drive), so the fact that it is HEAVY doesn't bother me all that much. It's got a nice big screen, which is good, because the tiny font on smaller screens don't really work well with my ever failing eyesight, and the rest looks pretty cool to. And I can pack the thing in my hand luggage (and nothing else!) and take it home if I want to.
The only problem I see is that it doesn't have a battery, but rather a UPS box/cable/thing. Which I hear isn't a battery at all, but something to keep paranoid people like myself happy. Which is bad, because IF it happens that I do need to check my email on the airport, I am pretty screwed.
But, like I said, I know absolutely NOTHING about PC's, so if someone could have a look and give me some advice, I'd be grateful.
Thanks!
ps I would also like to know what a good price would be. For the bigger model (the UP something or another), I saw a special for under 900 000 at the I-mart in Yongsan. Yes, I tried to find the other places, but the hold-my-thumb-in-the-air-and-figure-out-the-direction-of-the-wind-method for finding the electronics markets led me to a wedding place. Smile
