|
|
I have a friend who has gone to work on Jeju Island. Her boss is telling her that her ARC is her health card. I'd discount that, but some of the other western teachers are saying the same thing...that they get healthcare by just showing their ARC.
My suspicion is that they get the health care with the ARC, but pay twice as much as they actually have no insurance.
Anyone know? |

The ARC is *NOT* the health card. The health card is a NATIONAL program; Jeju is no different. |

The ARC isn't the health card, but so long as the person is enrolled, all they need is their ARC number and all is well.

Is your friend's employer making contributions (approximately 2.385%) and deducting an equal amount from her monthly salary to be paid to the National Health Insurance Corporation? It's the employer's responsibility to pay contributions of both parties to the NHIC. Her employer should take her health insurance card, and the representative will type the dates when the contributions were paid or the next contributions need to be paid. If I'm wrong, I stand corrected. Your friend does need to get a health insurance card. |
