The video quality is not exactly like the previous poster said. Sometimes when you download the video and run it from your computer to the t.v (via S-video cable and audio cable)...it looks a little blurry. Then you use Nero to make a DVD disc from the file and Nero will change the resolution slightly...then it will look better when played in a dvd player.
---I use both options. When I want to keep the movie and have great picture quality I make a DVD. |

I was hesitant to post exact instructions because of the variance among laptops. I suspect your problem is that instead of having a dual desktop display mode enabled (which means your laptop and TV can show two completely different things at the same time) you probably have a clone display mode (which means that your TV will attempt to show exactly what your laptop is showing, and at the same resolution.)
The problem is probably that your laptop has a resolution too high for your TV. Try lowering your laptop resolution to something like 640*480 when you connect it to your TV and see if that helps. |

I did. Same blurry screen rolling sight...
I literally 3 hours fiddling around with it. I even found a guide for my specific video card and still nothing.... |

| Don't know if this will help, but laptops usually have a key that switches the output display (is it LCD to VGA?). For most you hold down the Fn key (maybe the lower left corner on the keyboard) and press F5. Worked for the one at my school... |

Can you take a picture of it plus the cables connected? What do you use to connect anyway?
Could be a few things :
- You might need to adjust the refresh rate of the secondary monitor/TV
- Is your video card an ATI or NVidia? (can do some adjustments by right clicking the desktop->PROPERTIES->SETTING->ADVANCED-MONITOR/etc
- Are you trying to send a PAL signal to an NTSC TV?

Try starting the computer and TV up together (ie. connect the TV to the computer, turn it on and wait for the computer to boot up).
If you see the BIOS screen and WIndows loading then you're 1/2 way there. If you don't see Windows booting up then you will need to enable it via display properties (as well as restarting the computer again). Follow Jizz the Clown's advice if necessary. |

I know this is obvious but on the off chance you might've missed it...
Is your TV set to AV1, AV2, etc? Could be the video mode is wrong. Try everything posted so far in video mode 1, then begin again at video mode 2 etc. Outside of that I'm at a loss.
Also, why do you have a yellow AV cable? You're just using the PC to S-video adapter aren't you?? |

---The signal is divided to allow other options. Not important.

This is probably the exact reason. On your remote you can change to tv1, t.v2 and t.v3.
1: Turn on the t.v
2: Turn to a t.v show.
3: Press all the buttons on the remote until one of the buttons will flick to a black screen. Press the button again and it will go to another black screen. Press again and it will become the t.v show. This is the button to press after you have hooked up the computer to your t.v.
4: The cable setup you are using will for sure send the signal to the t.v.
--Try this and I think it will work. |

| thanks tried that all already and noting goes through....if you look at one of my earlier post there is a pic of my comuter screen which shows that I can even send my display to the TV so there is nothing for the TV to recieve...for some reason my computer doesnt even recognize the hook up....I think its something with the wires...maybe they're faulty or something....i'm going to get new yellow cord and try that... |

A bit hard to diagnose when we can't really see what you have there and how you connect the computer to the tv.
From what I can see in the picture, the cable on the left is a VGA to S-video/video composite cable is that right? The one on the right is the extension cable to connect the VGA cable (via composite) to the TV yeah?
How about using s-video instead of composite and look for an s-video port on the TV?
I used to live near bucheon, could've easily come down to have a look but... |

Laura, are you using the right plug? It doesn't look like it from your pic. According to a previous poster, you need this:
| Litlbul wrote: |
| I use the S-Video to 3 (yellow, red, white) RCA plug. I've been watching all my downloaded movies like this for the past year. As far as I know, every laptop has the S-Video, unless your computer is really old. In case you don't know, it's the round plug..... |
I'm still having trouble finding one of these in Busan - I've tried Homeplus, GS, and the Samsung and LG stores but to no avail. I'm going to check out Hi-Mart today. |
