Hello-

Can anybody explain to me why the universities that are currently posting jobs are not including a Master's of Education in their list of applicable degrees??

Personally I would think that a MED would be a highly valued degree for teaching teachers or graduate students.

Any thoughts??

Depending on the school, the MEd may be considered a "related" degree when they list off the Applied Linguistics and TEFL Masters and say "or related degrees". If you've done TEFL coursework in the MEd, so much the better.

My uni took my M.Ed. though I also have an MBA. Never had a problem with my M.Ed. in Korea, Taiwan, Saudi, Thailand or anywhere else. trust in the value of your good education.
Korea, more than anyone else, advertises for what they would like in the ideal circumstance, then accepts what reality dictates.

Zark:

Where did you do your MBA?

Has your MBA helped you get jobs or were employers only concerned with the fact that you had an M.Ed?

The M.Ed. generally met the need. The MBA has opened other doors though and I have had the opportunity to teach straignt business classes at a couple schools (where I also taught TEFL). A nice change of pace every now and then.
