I love this 'we don't really know crap'.
Sure its hard to prove 100% how old the universe is but the evidence for a very old universe is a mountainous beside the evidence for one that is 6000 years old or younger.
Of course yes, it could all be an illusion but that line of reasoning is pointless. |

Here is some Biblical astronomical wisdom which someone else has compiled:
▶ the earth does not move (Ps. 93:1, 104:5)
▶ the sun revolves around the earth (Josh. 10:12-14)
▶ stars exist for the purpose of illuminating the earth (Gen. 1:14-18)
▶ the earth is disk-shaped (1 Thess. 4:16; Rev 1:7)
▶ the earth has four corners (Rev. 7:1)
▶ the earth has four ends (Is. 40:28)
▶ the earth floats in a sea (Ps. 24:1-2; 136:6)
▶ the earth is supported on pillars (Job 9:6; Ps. 75:3)
▶ the sky is a solid dome (Gen. 1:6-8; Job 37:18; Ps. 104:2)
▶ it rains through windows in this dome (Gen. 7:11; Ps. 78:23) |

It's taking the fact science is tentative and concluding we don't know anything. This is the false continuum fallacy. |

Did any of you see the article about how Bill Nye was booed in Texas because he pointed out that Genesis 1:16 ("God made two great lights the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.).
He pointed out that the sun, the greater light, is but one of countless stars and that the lesser light is the moon, which really is not a light at all, rather a reflector of light.
A number of audience members left the room at that point, visibly angered by what some perceived as irreverence.

Race Traitor, that works both ways.
After Kenneth S. Saladin, Associate Professor of Biology
at Georgia College, Milledgeville, Georgia debated Creationist Duane Gish, several people told him to "go back to Russian where you came from." He got a letter requesting that he "be so kind as to DIE, and thus make the world a better place."
A local businessman put up a sign saying, "If you think you came from a
fish, let's see how long you can hold your breath under water."
The director of a local Christian school asked him to come and speak toone of his classes about the scientific method. When he got there, he found that he was to debate with a local Creationist in front of the entire student body.

Yeah, whoever voted for 6000 years old... please step forward. I want to know who you are so I can A) call you a retard and B) call you a retard and C) never take anything you say seriously, ever again.
Actually, this goes for all Christians. Anyone want to come up and justify their faith? |

Nah, I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed and starting a fight on the internet makes me feel better about stuff. |

But if he did die, the world would be a better place. |

I'd like to know too. My wife looked at this post and remarked "18% of foreigners in this country are stupid." I have to keep her away from here.
Not that I think all Christians need to justify their beliefs. |

well if you honestly believe the earth is 6000 yearsold, i'd like to know about it before i voted for you for example or you were put in any position of responsibility. you would obviously be a danger to those around you.
of course itspossible that you could compartmentalize your insane religious beliefs and be sane otherwise but id rather not tke the chance. |

Maybe the Bible just needs a good ole' update!! Like, version 2.0.
"in the beginning, billions of years ago, there was a big bang! thousands of galaxies and stars burst forth, shedding thy light...and God said, it was good...and god rested on Saturday AND Sunday..."
"Thy dinosaurs sinned, being too dinosaur-like, and God cast a large rock down upon Thy Earth! Begone! saideth he! And in the mist, out came a monkey.."
"And god said... 'this creation is just so-so...are monkeys the best i can do!??' Satan then saideth, "try your besteth" and God saideth, "Word. Watch this mutation in genes!" and poof! After several attempts, and over several thousands of years, out popped a man from thy same mist... into *ahem* the garden of... err.. Africa..."
Like I say. Bible needs an update. We can just say God wrote it, and people should believe us. |

You think there's any way we can convince God to have rested on Friday as well? |

Race Traitor, I messed it all up.
I thought you were talking someone being booed off the platform for advocating the Biblical standpoint.
I didn't recognize Bill Nye as "the science guy."
And the fellow I was talking about was debating a Creationist, not an Evolutionist.
I now corrected that.
I was in a big hurry to go to work.
