Thursday night there was a big bust (pot of course) in Gumi. Apparently 9 foreigners getting deported. The police caught the dealer (Korean) who gave up all his buyers to get a lighter deal. I wonder if he only gave up his foreign buyers. Anyway, he invited them all to his house where the police were waiting. The ones who didn't show up got a knock at their door. And they rounded up the last few at Pyscho - the local foreigner hangout.
Anyway, there's been a lot talk lately about the job market drying up. Well, there'll be a few schools in Gumi looking for teachers on Monday! |

The dealer could very well have been a narc. Korean police officials do travel to the U. S. for such symposiums and training seminars; and there is that distinct possibility.
Cheers,

Hey, play with fire and you get burnt. I'm no goody two shoes, but smoking weed is against the law..... so I'm glad these idiots got busted. This country has enough of its own problems without importing trouble. |

No offence to pit smokers as i am one who is looking foward to a joint when i get home.....
....however, it is the law and I'm sure most foreigners here know the consequences so to bad for them. I would say out of all the foreigners I know here(quite a lot) about 20% of them have had a toke in the last 3 months. I resist the urge as I personally know 3 people who have been entrapped in the last 2 years and one ended up in jail, not a good time for him |
