Hey, RSS, why are chefs so temperamental? One of the most enjoyable jobs I ever had was scrubbing dishes part-time in a busy kitchen as a spotty adolescent. It was great fun, but quite often the chefs would throw a major wobbler (not at me - just at the world in general).

Why is that?

i'd say it's a combination of craving a cigarette, needing an intoxicant, whether it be alcohol or other, stifled or misdirected creativity, demanding asshole customers, and being in a mad rush.
plus the freedom to swear a blue streak as much as they like while working.
or maybe that's just me.
rss Cool

Before coming to Korea I was:

--A casino accounting rep.

--A dept. supervisor at K-Mart

--A bartender

--A mailroom clerk at my uni.

--A T.A. at my uni.

--A substitute H.S. teacher (long-term)

--I had a tiny E-Bay business

--I was an audio technician for a stage

--I also was a waiter, a lifeguard, a fast-food worker in H.S., and I worked at two retail outlet stores, and briefly as an Amway slave.

Note that most of these jobs (with the exception of the casino, teaching, and bartending jobs) were pre-BA jobs.

The Oracle has only ever had one task in life.

Sure though they ask the question, proud citizens
Troubles unlooked for long shall vex thy shore,
The oracle answers thy questions, your guide in life!

I worked in jewelry sales, and before that I was a dance instructor.

Teaching dance paid way more than the retail jewelry job did, but due to a knee injury, my dance career went out the window, and I needed something.
