Fisherman Confesses to Serial Murders

Kim struggled to climb back into the boat, but Oh beat him five times with a hook on a pole, killing him. Oh then advanced on Choo, but she fought back by grabbing Oh's waist. Finally Oh threw her into the water, too, and stopped her from climbing back into the boat with the pole, police said.
Just 25 days later, on Sept. 25, Oh was preparing for another fishing trip at the same spot when he was approached again, this time by two women who asked for a boat ride. Oh took 24-year-old Cho from Gyeonggi Province and 23-year-old Ahn from Incheon on board and returned to his fishing spot where he worked for about three hours. On the way back, Oh tried to touch one of the women. Both women fought back and all three fell into the water.
One woman was swept away by the tide and Oh climbed into the boat. When the other woman tried to climb in, Oh killed her with the same pole, fearing that she would otherwise go to police.
Oh's serial murders were soon uncovered by police. Before boarding the boat, one of the two women by chance let a third woman who was traveling in Bosung use her mobile phone. That woman called her husband. Later that day, she and her husband were on their way home when they received a text message on the husband's phone that said, "We are locked in a boat. Tell the police." Alarmed, they called the police.

| Relax. Lighten up dude. He also managed to get back in the boat and then get mauled with a big fishing hook. It sucks, but come on the dude was 70. There can't be a lot of 70 year olds out there that can over power a young man like that. |

The Joongangilbo (sp?) story states that the 21 year old man was a supposedly athletic person who was able to swim back to the boat where the fisherman repeatedly nailed him with a hooked pole, etc.
A guy that's been out to the open sea for work purposes or whatever so many times in a fishing boat or some other sort of craft over his adult life in which one must stand for extended periods of time naturally develops a strong if not a very strong lower body with a fit-enough mid-section, lower back, and decent upper body strength.

I am not going to say RIP - no need for it - we all know - ALL of them are resting in peace...
no need anymore to wake up and worry about exams... or getting to work on time - or where the moneys going to come from to cover the next load of bills etc etc
they are all resting in peace...
What worries me - is how many more times does this need to happen - before the KOREAN people WAKE UP to themselves and realise that although they are all Korean - they live in a "fake" dreamworld...
where kids chat to strangers on street corners - and people think nothing of it...
where all koreans think all OTHER Koreans are their brothers/sisters...
where they DESPISE foreigners - just because their "foreign" - - but think that all Koreans (their neighbours, the strangers on the street, etc) are all their family - to trust, chat with, go somewhere with, accept food from, etc etc)...
(I am not saying they should trust foreigners either - but WAKE UP - stope thinking they are ALL ONE BIG FAMILY)..........
its because of their way of life and upbringing these young guys/gals - just SO EASILY approached a fisherman - and took a fateful journey on his boat...
when is someone going to teach them that just because they are all Korean doesn't mean they are all GOOD people....?
how many times have you seen the Pscho male/female strangers on the subways/buses chatting and perving on young children... (who trust them 100% because they are Korean)....
the Korean teachers in the classrooms touching up young students (who trust them 100% because they are Korean)....
and all the other scenarios....
Korean people try SO hard TO FIT IN TOGETHER and pretend that they are all one BIG HAPPY family....
and in the past the police have been too preoccupied sleeping on the park bench or standing on some street corner having a smoke whilst huddled together... - to catch any killers or kidnappers....
lucky some technology is catching up - as in the video cameras with the Serial-Killer Ilsan taxi driver and the cell-phone with the serial killer fisherman...
but Koreans will still take many, many more years before they wake up and realise that just because their neighbours are Korean - doesn't mean they are family and can be trusted....
In the past - most crimes were not solved...
so people just thought people disappeared..
many other crimes were not reported - because of the shame it may have brought upon the family - or that people just knew the police would never solve it...
BUT until Koreans wake up and stop pretending to be one big family - and start being more precautious - how much longer does this have to happen?

Reminds me of the police officer raping and stealing millions of won after he raped the women and then told he would kill their family members if they said anything. Trusting older people or people of higher positions here is so dangerous. I will teach my son to trust no Korean just foreigners  |

It's like when our parents were kids- mine grew up in the 50's.
They felt like they could trust adults and the community.
Slowly, Koreans are starting to realize this just isn't safe.
They are just so way behind us and have a long way to go to catch up.
Yes, it does worry me sometimes when Koreans are so ridiculously naive.
You may have heard this, but the Korean translation for naive is "innocent, pure". It's something that they think is good. We know it is dangerous.
Someday, they will learn. |

they went on a fishing trip with an old man. whatever country you're in, that's not normally thought to be a dangerous thing to do.

Personally I prefer not living in a paranoid state. If that means I die earlier than I would otherwise have (too late to die young) then I will have died without living as a paranoiac.
