I know pretty much no one cares about MLB baseball here but where can I watch the games? Any bars around Itaewon? Will the games be on regular cable TV? I don't have cable but might consider it to catch the Cubs (blow it). Thanks.

I care. And you should have no problem finding pretty much all the games on regular Korean cable.

you can also subscribe to mlbtv.com if you are a real diehard. I think that the YANKS are pretty popular here, a few of the recent BRS/NYY games were televised.

You'll need cable, but all the games will be on xsports tv.
Here's a link to the schedule for October. http://www.xportstv.com/schedule/schedule_day.asp

Here's a link for streaming.

Hey, I really wish that everything you guys said above is true, but it isn't. All the games will NOT be on TV.

I am a huge Cubs fan, and am crushed to see that I can't watch the games. First of all, MLB.TV over the Internet is blacked out for Korea for the playoffs because XSports has the national rights. (Even though I have had a subscription all year to MLB TV).

Well, XSports, as you can see on the schedule (and confirmed for me by a friend who speaks Korean), is only showing one game a day for each league. That game is NOT the Cubs, I believe it's the Phillies/Rockies.

I have a Mac, so the streaming TV stuff doesn't work either. It makes me crazy that I can't watch the Cubs in the playoffs. Unless ... is there a bar in Itaewon hooking into it?

Or anyone have another idea? It's very frustrating.

DAMN IT!!! Can you still watch the game on MLB TV if its not live, just archived. I was going to probably watch the games a few hours after they were over because of work. ANY BARS GUYS? ANYWHERE?

I called 3 Alley Pub in Itaewon and Gekko's, too. Neither one seems to be showing the games (though the person at Gekko's didn't really speak English, so I'm not certain).

However, Naver.com will be showing the games over the Internet. The first two will be the XSports broadcast (also available on TV) and the third game is the Cubs/D-backs game. That game actually may be broadcast in English. Hopefully ... as my Korean is terrible.

If anyone hears of a bar showing the games, though, please do tell!

worst case there was a radio station out of toronto that streams espn radios feed of the games, i've listened to the world series using that option.

For those two (?) of us who care, XSports has changed their schedule. They are now showing the Cubs game tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. here. Woo hoo!! The audio in English, I believe, is only available on MLB.Com through their postseason pkg

Just watched the Cubs game on MLB.tv (at a pc bong since i dont have a computer). I did watch it on delay and managed not to see the score the whole day. Not a bad way to watch (I've seen about 10 games like this). Though the live stream is blacked out in Korea the archive is not. It is a bit tricky not to see the outcome when you go on MLB.tv to get the feed, i had to block it with my hand as not to ruin it for myself. Also heads up if you watch it on delay, they will put the title of the highlights on the right side of the screen. If you see two many of those titles you may get a heads up of who wins.

Thanks again for all the info guys....GO CUBS!

Just watched the Rockies continue their amazing run by slapping around the Phillies in game 2. Yankees - Cleveland next on channel 4 XSports. Go Padres, oh yeah, damn.
