I want to work "in" Seoul preferably, and am having trouble evaluating varous offers and where they are in relation to Seoul.
I'm hoping people can answer the distances from these places to Seoul. This would seem useful for other people to have as well, as I think Seoul is the most highly sought after city (for newbies that is).
I'd use google maps/etc. here in the US, but I'm at a loss as to get a very accurate guage of distances in Korea. Thanks!

For a lot of those places it is faster to catch a bus than it is to take the subway into central seoul.
Suwon station to Sadang station is 40 minutes by bus (7770) if you do not get stuck in traffic. Then add 15 minutes to get to City hall. It is also the capital of Gyeonggi province and there is lots to do there. I lived there for a couple of years and hardly ever went into Seoul. It can take over 90 minutes from Suwon station to Seoul station by subway.
Bundang (seohyun station) is 30 minutes from Itaewon by bus (9401) with the same traffic caveat. It is almost an hour by subway.
Uiwang or Gwacheon to Sadang is 10-20 minutes. They are just north of Suwon.
Osan is 1 hour by bus and just about 2-2.5 hours by subway.
Unless I am mistaken, Jeonju is way down south and would take 1/2 a day by express bus or train to get to Seoul.

If you are going to Seoul station:
Sanbon (line 4- 28 km from Seoul Station 30-45 mins)
Gyeeonggi: Uiwang (line 1-3 stops north of Suwon same approximate time frame as Suwon)
Suwon City (line 1-41.5 km- 30 mins to 1 1/2 h ours depending on where you)
Osan (line 1- 5 stops south of Suwon so approximately the same time frame as Suwon)
Ansan (line 4- 45 km so approximately an hour or more)
Bundang (Where in Bundang? This is it's own subway line with 19 different stops)
YeongWol (no idea haven't heard of it)
Jeonju (This city is about 3.5 hours South of Seoul by bus/train if I'm not mistaken...maybe 4 hours. There is no subway connection to here, but you can get here easily.) |

There are only 6 subway stops in Bundang. It takes 18-26 minutes to get to Seolleung station from Bundang by subways, much faster by bus. |

I was just counting the number of stops on the "bundang" line on the subway map. I've never been out there so I wasn't sure what was actually in Bundang and what was just a part of the line. So where does Bundang actually start? I mean what stops are part of the city and what stops are part of the line only?
For example in Suwon there are 4 stops that are part of the city....Seryu, Suwon, Hwaseo and the university (I can't remember it's name).
Ah well no worries the OP is still getting some good information. |

Bundang is not a city. It is part of Seongnam city.
It is just a -gu (or Bundang-dong in Bundang-gu in some cases) and is the last 6 stops on the yellow line. There are no subway stops in Bundang-dong. |

Thanks Ttompatz,
Like I said I've never been there so I didn't know. I wondered about that though. I've seen people posting up that "it's in Bundang" and was never sure where they meant exactly.

| Jeonju is roughly 4 hours by train and isn't worth the effort getting there. The main train station is on the outskirts of town while the bus stations are more centrally located. It's about 3 hours by bus. |

If I had to live outside of Seoul, I would choose
1. Anyang
2. Sanbon
