Compared to Korea, do Japan and China offer a more fun/interesting/fuller cultural experience?

And if in your mind they do, is it not enough to offset the monetary gains Korea offers?

What kind of cultural experiences are you looking for?

Japan certainly does, but I think Korea has its share as well if someone was interested in them.

I have a friend in Beijing who is loving it over there. A lot is going on at the moment. But being trapped outside of Beijing would be like being trapped outside of Seoul, only far worse.

The strangest thing I noticed when I visited Beijing was that a majority of the foreigners could speak a reasonable amount of Mandarin.

I've been debating this myself recently. I've always had a fascination with Japan - the zen gardens, kimonos, the history, the women who look so refined (I'm a chick btw). However, because the cost of living is so much higher I probably wouldn't be able to save much money (after my student loan payments). Or I could spend another year in Korea and rack up the dough.

I'm leaning towards the money because I really want to be financially secure when I'm done here. Then I could enjoy a year in Japan without worrying about trying to save and just have a good time.
