So I have a movie that I downloaded (so shoot me), and perplexingly it has only Korean subtitles despite being a Korean movie, which is weird but fine.

What I'd like to do is open the subtitle file and print it off for Korean language study purposes.

The package consists of an .avi, an .idx, and a .sub file. The idx opens as a text file and seems to contain information about the times at which to display subtitles. The sub file is larger and contains gobbledygook, whether I open it in Word or Hangeul (korean word processor) and regardless of which encoding (unicode, korean EUC etc) I choose. Notepad's worse; it just freezes.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks for that, blackjack. It seems to work on .srt subtitle files, but doesn't seem to be able to open the .sub file (I tried .sub files for two different movies), even though "sub" is listed as a supported file format.

Any thoughts?

Good program, though-- thanks.

Could there be some thing wrong with the sub file? have you tried downloading other copies of the sub?

No, but I doubt there's anything wrong with the sub. I tried a couple of different movies, and anyways the subs work when I watch the movies.... Confused

try opening the .sub file as a normal file in word...

then 'select all' and change the 'font' to a Korean font....

hope it helps..

why not just download the script from here. Click on 영화대본 (top left) then on 한국영화 bottom left and search.
