Oh man, I was more chuffed about the French beating the All Blacks than I was about England winning, again Australasian rugby is going to have to take a back seat again.

I'm sure you have got your 'food poisoning' alibi ready lads! Cool

Won't the All Blacks and the Wallabies be able to share a plane home now as their presence is no longer needed? Laughing

Who do you think will whine louder as the QANTAS flight touches down in sydney? The plane itself or its occupants? Laughing

From what I can tell NZrs will be way more upset about this. There is too much going in on in Australia for most people to give it a second thought. In NZ, on the other hand, the mental welfare of the entire nation hinges on the ABs and their ability to beat soccer-loving nations at a game they don't really care about.

Nothing better than waking up to a video of crying Kiwis on a Sunday morning.

It is the worst World Cup result for New Zealand in history, the first time they have not made it to the semi-finals.

Poor little fellas - no doubt some filthy frog spiked their croissants prior to the match.

OUR GODS FALL TO EARTH by 1987 All Black winning captain David Kirk from www.stuff.co.nz sums up the stup1d metality of the rugby obsessed media in Gods Own.
They lost again and the entire nation will fall into abject depression and depravity for a game the world neither cares about nor follows.
The poll on the stuff site indicates however that 14.4% of respondants are 'pleased' with the loss against France.
I too voted in the 'pleased' category but my true emotion is one of sadness. I only truely advocate for a more balanced sporting landscape in NZ where other sports can receive equal financial assistance and media coverage with the exclusion of Yachting which is clearly for extremely rich people only and is not participated in by the populace in general.

I don't understand all the fuss. I watched both games and it seems to me that the better team won each time.

Kirk ruins that piece with the "gods" headline and conclusion. There's no need for hysteria in an article in which he makes accurate observations:
David Kirk wrote:
[The All Blacks'] own inability to stop trying to create the perfect form of rugby and just win the match
David Kirk wrote:
France certainly played well. The[y] brought a simple game plan to Cardiff.

I'm kind of pleased the AB's are out coz hopefully people will just shutup about rugby. There are other things going on in life.
